Preferred skills and qualifications:
- 8–12 years of experience in leather manufacturing, product development, or B2B business development.
- Strong knowledge of leather tanning, finishing techniques, and sustainable alternatives (chrome-free, vegetable tanning, etc.).
- Proven track record of expanding into new markets or launching innovative leather products.
- Familiarity with REACH compliance, LWG (Leather Working Group) certifications, and export standards.

- Forward-thinking approach to market trends, customer needs, and product development.
- In-depth knowledge of tanning, finishing, dyeing, and leather quality standards.

Responsibilities & Context:
Position Purpose: The Head of R&D & Business Development will be responsible for driving product innovation, enhancing sustainable leather technologies, and expanding global business opportunities. This strategic leadership role requires a blend of technical expertise in leather processing and market acumen to lead Pegasus Leathers into its next phase of growth and innovation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead R&D initiatives in leather processing, tanning technologies, product design, and quality improvement.
Develop new leather finishes, eco-friendly alternatives, and customized product solutions for clients.
Collaborate with production teams to ensure efficient and sustainable manufacturing processes.
Stay updated on global trends in leather design, sustainability regulations, and material sciences.
Identify new business opportunities in domestic and international markets (especially fashion, automotive, upholstery, and footwear sectors).Develop and nurture relationships with designers, brands, OEMs, and B2B clients.
Lead market expansion strategies and establish partnerships with distributors, agents, and trade bodies.
Represent Pegasus Leathers at international trade fairs, exhibitions, and B2B events.
Collaborate with the marketing team to position Pegasus as a leading innovator in leather.
Define R&D and business development strategy in alignment with corporate goals.
Prepare feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and business cases for new product lines or ventures.
Provide regular reporting to senior management on R&D progress, market trends, and revenue forecasts.
Lead cross-functional teams across innovation, sales, and manufacturing units.
Foster a high-performance culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
