After over 50 years of impact at scale, BRAC is more determined than ever to create opportunities to realise human potential. To do this, BRAC is looking to raise awareness of its work and values amongst key stakeholders in strategic markets across North America and Europe, particularly through digital communications and media engagement, to raise resources for BRAC programmes. To achieve that, BRAC staff in Washington, DC, London and Copenhagen will need regular access to communications products and information from BRAC and BRAC International programmes.
Job Purpose
In light of this we are looking for a motivated and experienced individual to join us as Manager, Fundraising Communications, who will play a key role both in creating high-quality communications products to support fundraising across BRAC, particularly in the US and Europe, but also in ensuring that relevant content, statistics and products get shared with the US and European communications teams.
Key Responsibilities
Produce audience-focused content for US, UK and European markets (60%):
Working in close partnership with BRAC and BRAC International communications teams in Dhaka, the Fundraising Communications Manager will help to maintain a steady flow of content (40 stories/videos per year) out to the affiliates to inform and inspire their growing audiences. This content could be originally reported by the manager, but more likely curated and adapted from content the individual gathers from BRAC and BRAC International colleagues.
Support programs on communications requirements for US-, UK- and European-funded projects (20%):
With a growing portfolio of corporate, foundation and institutional partnerships from the USA and Europe, the Manager will work to support program communicators who have project-related communication deliverables for a myriad of donors including the U.S. Department of State, Gates Foundation, the Lego Foundation, the FCDO, European Union, SIDA, and DANIDA, as well as a number of other foundations and corporate partners. The Manager will work to keep USA and European affiliates aware of upcoming content deliveries (e.g., ahead of a scheduled program report) and will work to support the story selection and adaptation of final content beyond grant reports for global audiences. The Manager will sometimes support members of the Global Resource Mobilisation and Partnerships (GRP) team on deliverables such as review of communications-heavy project proposals and reports.
Internal coordination (20%):
This role is responsible for ensuring that affiliate teams have access to the latest situation reports, stories, photography, data, and research that can support their brand, advocacy, and fundraising efforts. Each week, the Manager will participate in calls with their colleagues in Europe and America, and work to maintain a shared content calendar for forward planning. The Manager, Fundraising Communications, will also attend key communications meetings that happen in Dhaka. Additionally, this role will have responsibility for coordinating the Global Editorial Calendar, ensuring teams across BRAC are keeping it up to date.
