Responsibilities & Context:
  • The Manager – Advocacy will lead the development and implementation of advocacy strategies to promote the Humanitarian Play Lab (HPL) model and ensure children’s rights to play, protection, and early learning in humanitarian settings. The role includes building partnerships, influencing policies, and enhancing the visibility of HPL through evidence-based advocacy at local, national, and global levels. This include ensuring quality in delivery, liaising with partners and stakeholders in the host and camps. The role ensures that the program meets its goals in line with child development, play-based learning, protection, and humanitarian standards.

    Develop and implement an advocacy strategy aligned with HPL objectives.

  • Identify key policy gaps and opportunities to integrate play-based learning in humanitarian and development agendas.

  • Lead evidence-based advocacy campaigns, drawing from field-level data and research.

  • Maintaining liaison with relevant stakeholders including Donors, Govt. agency and other stakeholders in both camp and host community i.e CIC, UNO, CMO UPEO, DPEO etc.

  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government agencies, UN bodies, NGOs, CSOs, and media.

  • Represent the HPL project in relevant forums, networks, and policy dialogues.

  • Advocate for the integration of the HPL model in national ECD frameworks and humanitarian response plans.

  • Collaborate with the communications team to produce advocacy materials (briefs, success stories, videos, policy papers).

  • Ensure consistent messaging across platforms in alignment with the project's core values and child protection principles.

  • Organize advocacy events such as roundtables, media briefings, and campaign etc.

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
