Responsibilities & Context:
We are seeking a highly experienced, detail-oriented, and proactive Accounts Manager to lead our Accounts & Finance Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, managing taxation and VAT matters, supervising the accounts team, and providing strategic financial support to management.
The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership capabilities, excellent analytical skills, and extensive experience in corporate accounting, taxation, auditing, and financial reporting.
Educational Requirements
MBA/BBA in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from a reputed university.
Strong preference will be given to candidates who have completed:
Chartered Accountancy (CA) Articleship (CA-CC); or
Equivalent professional accounting qualifications.
Additional certifications or practical training in the following areas will be considered an advantage:
Income Tax
VAT (Bangladesh VAT Act)
Tally Prime or other ERP-based accounting systems
Experience Requirements
Minimum 8–10 years of corporate accounting experience.
Experience in Constructions, engineering, manufacturing, trading, import, or related industries will be preferred.
Proven experience in handling financial reporting, taxation, VAT compliance, audits, and commercial/import accounting.
Key Responsibilities: -
Financial Accounting & Reporting:
Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial statements, including:
Balance Sheet
Profit & Loss Statement
Cash Flow Statement
Ensure compliance with IFRS, IAS, and applicable accounting standards.
Monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
Accounts Supervision & Internal Control:
Review and verify daily accounting transactions, vouchers, bills, journal entries, and ledger postings.
Implement strong internal control procedures to prevent financial discrepancies and operational errors.
Ensure accurate maintenance of accounting records and supporting documentation.
Taxation, VAT & Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure full compliance with National Board of Revenue (NBR) regulations.
Manage VAT and Income Tax matters, including:
VDS (VAT Deducted at Source)
TDS (Tax Deducted at Source)
Return preparation and submission
Assessments and regulatory correspondence
Monitor changes in tax laws and ensure organizational compliance.
Audit & Financial Compliance
Coordinate and facilitate statutory, internal, and external audits.
Act as the primary liaison with auditors and regulatory authorities.
Ensure timely submission of audit schedules and compliance reports.
ERP & System Management
Ensure effective utilization of Tally Prime or equivalent ERP systems.
Maintain accurate inventory and financial records within the system.
Develop and implement process improvements for financial reporting and control.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, supervise, and mentor the Accounts & Finance team.
Assign responsibilities and monitor team performance.
Develop team capabilities through coaching and professional guidance.
Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS, IAS, VAT, and Income Tax regulations.
Expert proficiency in Tally Prime or similar ERP software.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial analysis and reporting.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills in both English and Bengali.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
