∎ Project name: Feed the Future Bangladesh Livestock Production for Improved Nutrition Project (LPIN)
∎ MIS Specialist:
∎ We are seeking an MIS Specialist for our USAID Feed the Future Livestock Production for Improved Nutrition Project. The project seeks to impact rural household nutrition by improving the utilization of livestock products, and food security. Key to this position will maintain and support future augmentations of Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint-based management applications for the project. The MIS Specialist will work closely with Head of Monitoring and Evaluation and other technical staff to provide successful management, design, and implementation of knowledge and information applications/ technologies.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Complete initial SharePoint Database Administration and Data Analysis training with ACDI/VOCA Regional Systems and Technology Director, Information Technology, and assume full control of the Project M&E system.
∎ Ensure compliance with data quality standards and maintain a fully auditable data trail for all M&E indicator figures that are reported.
∎ Lead the design and integration of additional tools and applications as requested by management and technical staff.
∎ Manage MIS architecture, navigation, and permission levels of project staff.
∎ Provide required GIS support in Geo-spatial data management and Geo-referential monitoring.
∎ Support emerging system project needs by working with managers and technical staff to define and address requirements for new or existing MIS applications.
∎ Provide support to users, including basic troubleshooting or granting access to secured applications when relevant.
∎ Develop required M&E tools using open-source mobile data collection solutions.
∎ Design and maintain appropriate tools, techniques, and methods to ensure the authentication of program achievements.
∎ Help in data collection using mobile electronic devices, compilation, error check, coding, data input, data analysis, and preparation of report.
∎ Undertake regular visits to monitor field activities and to identify where adaptations and improvements might be needed, and report these to the Head of M&E and COP.
Additional Requirements:
∎ A minimum of eight years of experience with management information systems, preferably on international development projects.
∎ Understanding of M&E requirements on development projects.
∎ Strong background in MS Access/ SQL server and ASP.net/ PHP.
∎ Familiarity with USAID funded projects, particularly in the agriculture sector.
∎ Experience in using statistical software (SPSS, STATA).
∎ Knowledge of Power Pivot, Power View, MS Access, Web Apps, SQL Azure and Power Map Applications.
∎ Experience with integration of hardware with data-management systems.
∎ Excellent English skills, both verbal and written.
