Responsibilities & Context:

• Carry out all minor works (construction, repairs, etc.) requested by the line manager, as well as any task identified by the employee and approved by the line manager.

• Perform regular maintenance of MSF installations / equipment / infrastructures (base, house, store, warehouse, health centre, hospital, etc.), particularly in line with a preventive maintenance plan (procedures to follow, schedule, etc.).

• In the event of faults / deterioration, diagnose the problem and propose possible solutions to the line manager and/or technical adviser.

• Perform any necessary tests / checks to confirm the proper operation of the installation or equipment after repair.

• Ensure effective management, protection and care of work tools (including site installations under the employee’s su-pervision) and keep the workshop tidy.

• Ensure that there are adequate stocks of consumables and materials for minor repairs and manage those stocks; pla-cing orders in time.

• Keep all documents related to installations / equipment / infrastructures in order and update them regularly.

• Immediately inform the line manager of any problems that arise in the course of the work, particularly with regard to damage, loss, theft or attempted break-ins.

• Assist logistics department for any related work needed.

• Perform regular maintenance of MSF installations, equipment, and infrastructures (e.g., base, house, store, warehouse, health centre, hospital), particularly in line with a Preventive Maintenance Plan (PMP), including tasks related to plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems, by following established procedures and schedules under supervision.

• In the event of faults / deterioration, diagnose the problem and propose possible solutions to the line manager and/or technical adviser.

• Perform any necessary tests / checks to confirm the proper operation of the installation or equipment after repair.

• Ensure effective management, protection and care of work tools (including site installations under the employee’s supervision) and keep the workshop tidy.

• Keep all documents related to installations / equipment / infrastructures in order and update them regularly.

• Receiving goods arriving to the store and premises, checking its status/condition and amounts in the waybill, Preparing outgoing items in a clean and optimized way by appropriately packing, sealing and labeling goods,

• Assisting with recording the exits on stock cards and project form, and ensuring good quality of cold chain when needed.

• Ensuring that goods are well organized and stored in a clean area to be visible and traceable i.e. assisting in the stock inventory, storing items according to nature and use, and ensuring that the temperature in the store is appropriate and items that require cold chain are correctly stored

• Carrying out basic maintenance of the store, ensuring security conditions (keeping unauthorized staff out, locking, etc....)

• Helping MSF staff carry heavy items, if necessary

• Assist logistics department for any related work needed

• Regular communication with users and or stake holders regarding job request and equipment maintenance.

• Facility management

• The staff member is expected to apply tools and policies and perform tasks with regular oversight from a supervisor.

• Ability to perform minor construction, repairs, and maintenance tasks across MSF facilities (e.g., base, store, health center).

• Understand and follow scheduled maintenance plans and procedures.

• Proper use, care, and storage of tools and equipment.

• Identify faults and assist in diagnosing issues with installations or equipment.

Management of Offices and Workplace Safety

• Support equipment management under supervision by identifying and labeling equipment, following usage procedures, and helping maintain accurate maintenance records (e.g., logbooks, checklists), with regular guidance and review from the supervisor.

• Conduct routine checks and basic maintenance of fire safety equipment (e.g., extinguishers, blankets, smoke detectors).

• Identify and respond to basic safety hazards (e.g., exposed wiring, slippery floors, blocked exits, fire risks) by applying simple solutions such as signage or reporting, under supervision—meaning tasks are performed with oversight, and the supervisor ensures proper follow-up and correction.

Energy

• Recognize the three core priorities of electrical work, safety, protection, and continuity of service; under supervision, applying them consistently during basic maintenance tasks with regular guidance from a supervisor.

• Follow a logical step-by-step procedure to detect simple electrical problems under supervision, ensuring that troubleshooting is done safely and correctly with oversight to minimize errors.

• Apply the basic laws of electricity (volt, ampere, watt, AC/DC) under supervision, using this foundational knowledge to support minor electrical tasks while being regularly monitored for accuracy and safety.

• Assemble and install basic electrical facilities using MSF standard kits (e.g., lighting kits, small generators, charger/inverter systems) under supervision, ensuring correct implementation of procedures and tools with support from a technical supervisor.

Safety

• Explain prevention and mitigation safety principles under supervision, applying them during daily tasks with regular guidance to ensure alignment with organizational safety standards.

• Assist in applying the project-level safety plan under supervision, including informing MSF personnel on the use of basic technical safety tools (e.g., vehicles, tools, inverters), with oversight to ensure correct and safe practices.

• Report any damaged locks, broken fences, or missing keys immediately to the line manager to ensure the security of MSF facilities and prevent unauthorized access.

• Assist in labeling and organizing keys; ensure all keys are returned to the designated locked cabinet after use and that key access is controlled and traceable.



Job Other Benifits:

    Permanent Contract. Salary according to level Two (2) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 30895). Salary is not negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule. 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents based on Health Care Policy- Locally Recruited Staff.

    There is no provisions for relocation. 2 Festival Bonuses after completion of one year of uninterrupted continuous service.
