Job Context:
∎ Under the supervision of the FSL and DRR Programme Manager, the Livestock Supervisor is in charge of the supervision of the livestock activities including needs assessment, activities` implementation and monitoring as well as project evaluation.
∎ The Livestock Supervisor supports the development of livestock activities as defined in the proposal (support mobile veterinary clinics establishment, awareness session on livestock diseases and support to female veterinary volunteers, and provision of livestock kits) and any other activities and assessments.
∎ S(he) provides technical support and guidance to livestock officers to implement and monitor the livestock activities implemented by a Partner NGO.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Needs assessment, design of activities and beneficiaries' selection
∎ Support the FSL and DRR Activity Manager in designing initial assessment and baseline surveys
∎ Conduct and supervise baseline surveys' implementation, data collection and needs assessments under the direction of the Activity Manager
∎ Help the Line Management in designing and setting up criteria for selecting targeted communities and beneficiaries, participate in beneficiaries' identification and ensure that beneficiaries are selected according to relevant criteria, defined with the communities and the Line Management
∎ Ensure a good communication toward the project and make sure that the projects' objectives are well understood and accepted by the communities as well as the selection criteria
∎ Ensure the quality of the data collected at field level by his team and participate in data analysis
∎ Help in assessment in other topics in order to develop new project
∎ Activity Implementation and operational monitoring:
∎ Plan the weekly activities for his/her team according to the project's objectives and timeframe and have them approved by his/her Line Manager:
∎ Propose a technical approach, financial layout and logistics for the activities
∎ Ensure that the appropriate technical support is provided to beneficiaries
∎ Participate to the location selection, method validation and preparation of all the activities with possible risk management and validate technically final locations and selections
∎ Create appropriate training curriculums, training modules and communication supports for all the activities in close collaboration with the technical department from the Government (mainly DoL) and upon validation of the Project Manager and the FSL and DRR Coordinator
∎ Support the Activity Manager in defining initial assessment.
∎ In collaboration with MEAL and the Activity Manager, conduct and supervise assessment, data entry and analysis.
∎ Participate in beneficiaries' identification and ensure that beneficiaries are selected according to relevant criteria, defined with the communities and the Line Management
∎ Make sure that the activities developed are DRR mainstreamed and resilient with the technical support of the line manager.
∎ Ensure the methodologies and project's objectives are well understood by the officers under his/her responsibility and implemented in the field and propose appropriate changes if needed.
∎ By supervising and monitoring each stage of activity, ensuring that the schedules and deadlines agreed upon with the line manager are respected.
∎ Participate to the procurement request and ensure the quality of livestock items provide to beneficiaries and prepare schedule for smooth distribution.
∎ Make sure that his/her team is properly and regularly using the follow up tools to ensure the efficiency and progress of the activities
∎ HR Management:
∎ Support the Line Manager in solving problems between team members, or between teams and partners, communities and beneficiaries
∎ Conduct the performance reviews of the staff s/he supervises directly
∎ Act as the liaison in the field between the various actors
∎ Plan human resources, material and financial resources with the line manager according to the set schedule
∎ Logistics and Administration:
∎ Train his/her team members to properly use and maintain the available tools (Vehicle Request, Advance Management etc....)
∎ Track usage with monitoring tools provided
∎ Ensure compliance of security rules and safety procedures by the staff under his/her supervision
∎ Monitor the quality and quantity of material delivered to site
∎ Reporting / communication:
∎ Keep his/her monitoring tools and files archived in Solidarités International office, accessible to his/her Line Manager
∎ Submit a weekly report (which should include progress made by the team, challenges faced and planning for coming week) to his/her line manager
∎ Take part in the development of communication and capitalisation tools (success stories, activity form, lesson learn report, ...etc)
∎ Listen to the populations and local participants in the field and report to his/her Line Manager any non-technical or safety-related issues which could affect the activities or safety of Solidarités International teams.
∎ Develop SI defined CRM activities among the team and make them familiar for the community.
∎ In collaboration with the Line Management, maintain a local operational communication network and positive relations with the local/governmental authorities, donor representatives, UN and other international agencies
∎ Represent SI on request and/or delegation
Additional Requirements:
∎ -Experience on livestock distribution and livestock training facilitation
∎ -Males and females are encouraged to apply
∎ -Good level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) and capacity to learn new software
∎ -Language Proficiency: English and Bangla skills are required for writing, typing and --speaking.
∎ -Well organized and with good interpersonal and communication skills
∎ -Able to communicate with tact and diplomacy and to work and communicate effectively with communities representatives, stakeholder and beneficiaries.
∎ -SI is looking for qualified FSL and DRR professional with a Veterinary Medicine or Livestock production qualification.
∎ -The Livestock Supervisor, under the supervision of the FSL & DRR Programme Manager, will be responsible to supervise the technical implementation of the livestock production,Veterinary services (supporting mobile veterinary clinics and Women Animal Health Volunteers), provide capacity building to Implementing Partner and the Department of Livestock.
Salary:
∎ Monthly Basic Salary BDT 33,000 with Other allowances and benefits as per ISR of Solidarités International.Possible.
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Festival Bonus: 2
∎ Other allowances 25,700 will be added with basic salary
