Job Context:
∎ Duration : 6 months initially, starting 16 December 2021, with the possibility of extension

∎ Directly reports to: Emergency Response Representative -Solidar Suisse Bangladesh
∎ Also authorised by: Desk Officer HQ Solidar;
∎ Directly supervises: Emergency Response Representative -Solidar Suisse Bangladesh
∎ Close functional link: HQ Administrator in Switzerland, Finance & Admin. Coordinator,Shelter Coordinator based in Cox Bazar/Teknaf.
∎ 5. Background & Purpose of the Position:
∎ Solidar Suisse is a Swiss International NGO founded in 1936 and member of the European Solidar Network. We support and implement projects in the fields of Decent Work, Governance, and Humanitarian Aid in 14 countries worldwide.
∎ Since the start of the Rohingya refugee crisis in 2017, Solidar Suisse has supported Rohingya refugees through SOLIDAR network partner AWO International in the fields of emergency shelter and WASH. Thereafter, Solidar Suisse selected local organizations to implement Shelter, Wash, Livelihoods, and COVID-19 projects.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ 6. Primary responsibilities:
∎ The following are key responsibilities of the position:
∎ Demonstrate sound resource management and accountability to ensure that all Solidar projects funds/resources are utilized to achieve project goals, by respecting Solidar and donor policies and procedures.
∎ Monitor implementation of partner's monthly work plans and design & implement appropriate and effective project tools and methods including but not limited to surveys, constructions, training sessions.
∎ Ensure effective design and functioning of needs assessments and beneficiary selection according to defined criteria and transparently share these with beneficiaries and community members considering the conflict sensitivity approach of Solidar Suisse.
∎ Support and assist the partner in data collection and management and train them as required.
∎ Establish, and support monitoring and evaluation systems for project activities and train relevant partner staff.
∎ Develop / review training curriculum for the skills development components, participate in selection of training providers for the skills development component
∎ Participate in selection of and use of agricultural inputs and small livestock along with partner staff
∎ 7. Key Tasks:
∎ 7.1 Review Capacity Development & Reporting:
∎ Establish, maintain a monitor & management systems, procedures and controls, and ensure these are compliant with Solidar Switzerland, donor and Government of Bangladesh requirements
∎ Advise, provide guidance, coaching support and mentoring to partner staff on training methods and approaches for food security, resilience, skills development and livelihoods and conduct capacity building trainings for partner staff whenever necessary/required.
∎ Provide detailed weekly/biweekly/monthly report to the Emergency Response Representative, and take an active part to develop project progress report according to donor requirements
∎ Assess the human resource requirements and skills and participate in staff recruitment and induction with partner staff
∎ Undertake any other tasks as requested by the Emergency Response Representative.
∎ Coordinate/provide formal and on-the job training for project staff dealing with finance & personnel matters.
∎ 7.2 Support Solidar Suisse team in organisational & management aspects of project management

∎ Assist Emergency Response Representative on standard project implementation aspects and review findings on Project/s spending, variance, fund situation, project stage of completion, closing and reporting related issues etc.
∎ Prepare high quality and timely reports, and ensure that expected outcome and output as described in the proposal are met and notify major issues to Emergency Response Representative.
∎ Assist Emergency Response Representative and provide monthly progress reports to headquarters; plan and monitor cash flow requirements.
∎ Take an active part to support the development of Concept Notes and potential new project proposals according to project needs and donor constraints.
∎ Prepare and review narrative part for a cost & no cost extensions of various projects request and ensure that budgetary tracking is developed to reflect and capture these amendments.
∎ Assist Emergency Response Representative for the preparation of annual organizational reports and project reports to attain organizational objectives
∎ Keep track of the contractual agreements per individual project, time-frame and budget obligations and circulate this information to senior management on a regular basis.
∎ Ensure Solidar Suisse and partner staff are in compliance with the approved financial and procurement policies and procedures
∎ 7.3 Management of admin and logistics related aspects of Solidar Suisse representation
∎ Ensure all admin and logistic needs are met according to SoP's of Solidar
∎ Ensure office operations are reflected in time and managed properly.
∎ Undertake any other tasks as requested by the Emergency Response Representative and /or determined by Solidar head office.
∎ The Livelihood Service Provider is not allowed to make to any party, authority, media, or in public political statements / comments. Media statements and interviews of any kind have to be prior coordinated with the Emergency Response Representative and approved with HQ Switzerland.
∎ The above defined responsibilities are defined in light of the current project portfolio and context and may be subject to revision in case of context changes.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
∎ Intermediate level of understanding on various project monitoring tools and software.
∎ At least 3-4 years experience working in project management preferably in context of Rohingya response.
∎ Ability to manage a diverse workload, independently and able to meet sets targets and priorities
∎ Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and share evidence of good practice with internal and external stkeholders
