Additional Requirements:
∎ Essential Laboratory Technician diploma /degree with Registration or Degree in Chemistry/Bio-Chemistry or relevant subject.
∎ Minimum 1 year working experience in Water/Waste Water Laboratory is essential.
Requirements:
Responsibilities & Context:
∎
∎ • According to relevant water quality testing standards and lab procedures, sampling and testing water and wastewater from a variety of sources, including support in other experimental tests as needed.
∎ • Ensuring proper reporting and registration of the sample results in order to keep a written track of activity and give information to the relevant persons.
∎ • Taking care, manage and organize efficiently the laboratory material/equipment.
∎ • Perform cleaning and minor maintenance for equipment used. Following the user manual and protocols and alert supervisor in case of malfunctioning
∎ • Applying hygiene and safety protocols, doing daily cleaning /maintenance, sterilization, washing general glassware after procedures are done.
∎ • Ensuring proper sample waste disposal according to MSF protocols and highest safety standards.
∎ • Supplying orders, do stock, storage conditions follow-up, keep inventory.
∎ • Keeping organized the data collection system of laboratory results and all information generated from the analysis done.
∎ • Reporting all relevant information linked to the activity in the laboratory to the line manager, especially the loss/robbery/damage of laboratory equipment or materials.
∎ • Collect and analyze water and wastewater samples from MSF facilities within both the Balukhali and Kutupalong projects, including hospitals, offices, residences, and works yards.
∎ • Report analysis results to the FSM Specialist and the Watsan Manager, flag items that need quick action, and assign priorities as needed.
∎ • Assist other lab technicians in using lob equipment within the FSTP laboratory, and report to the FSM specialist in a timely manner when problems arise.
∎ • Follow MSF standards for cleaning and sterilizing lab equipment.
∎ • Track inventory of equipment and consumables, and communicate with the FSM Specialists and other stakeholders as necessary to ensure lab stocks are always at an appropriate level.
∎ • Assist FSM Specialist in weekly and monthly reporting activities around the work and results of the laboratory.
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Salary according to Level Five (05) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 56,000 Gross). 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents.
