Experience:

• Diploma/B.Sc. in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, Garments Technology, Fashion Technology, or relevant discipline.

• Candidates with strong practical experience in denim cutting may also be considered.

• 8–12 years of relevant experience in Garments Cutting.

• Minimum 5–7 years in Cutting Floor In-Charge / equivalent position.

• Experience in a 100% Denim Garments Factory is highly preferred.

• Strong practical experience in denim fabric spreading, cutting, shade/lot control, and cutting production management.

• Strong knowledge of Denim Cutting Operations.

• Good understanding of CAD, Marker Making, Pattern, and Marker Efficiency.

• Knowledge of fabric relaxation, spreading, shrinkage, and fabric utilization.

• Strong knowledge of shade/lot segregation and numbering/bundling systems.

• Knowledge of cutting machines and equipment.

• Understanding of fabric consumption and cutting wastage control.

• Ability to read and understand Tech Pack, Pattern, Marker, Measurement Chart, and Cutting Plan.

• Knowledge of common cutting defects and corrective actions.

• Good knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement.

• Must be fluent in English (Reading, writing, and speaking).

Job Responsibilities

• Manage the overall cutting floor operations from fabric receiving to cut-panel handover to the sewing department.

• Ensure daily cutting targets are achieved according to the approved production plan and shipment schedule.

• Coordinate with PPC, Fabric Store, CAD, Marker, IE, Quality, Sewing, and Washing departments for smooth production flow.

• Verify fabric availability, style, color, shade, lot, width, GSM, and other required specifications before cutting.

• Ensure proper fabric relaxation according to fabric type and required relaxation time.

• Ensure accurate fabric spreading according to approved spreading methods and fabric direction.

• Control fabric shade, lot, face/back, nap direction, stretch direction, and shrinkage requirements during spreading and cutting.

• Ensure cutting is performed according to the approved marker, pattern, size ratio, and production quantity.

• Monitor and control cutting accuracy, panel numbering, bundling, and segregation.

• Ensure proper shade-wise and lot-wise cutting and bundling to prevent shade mixing during sewing.

• Coordinate with CAD/Marker team regarding marker efficiency, fabric utilization, and marker corrections.

• Monitor fabric consumption and minimize fabric wastage and cutting loss.

• Ensure proper handling of denim fabric to prevent damage, distortion, contamination, and shade variation.

• Check cut panels against the approved pattern and specifications to identify notches, drill holes, shape, measurements, and cutting accuracy issues.

• Ensure proper numbering and bundling of cut panels according to size, shade, lot, and bundle quantity.

• Ensure critical panels such as front, back, pocket, waistband, yoke, fly, and other components are cut accurately.

• Monitor cutting machine performance and coordinate with Maintenance for machine breakdown and preventive maintenance.

• Ensure proper manpower allocation and productivity of spreaders, cutters, numbering staff, and helpers.

• Monitor cutting floor WIP, productivity, efficiency, and target versus achievement.

• Take immediate corrective action in case of fabric defects, spreading errors, cutting defects, marker problems, or quantity shortages.

• Ensure proper handling and documentation of fabric end bits, remnants, wastage, and rejected panels.

• Conduct regular floor inspections to ensure compliance with quality, safety, housekeeping, and 5S requirements.

• Train and guide supervisors, cutting operators, spreaders, numbering staff, and helpers.

• Maintain required cutting reports, fabric consumption reports, cutting status, and production records.

• Ensure timely and accurate handover of cut panels to the Sewing Department as per production requirements.

• Support management in improving cutting efficiency, fabric utilization, productivity, and cost reduction.

• Ensure all cutting activities comply with buyer requirements, approved samples, technical specifications, and company procedures.

• Perform any other duties assigned by the Cutting Manager / Management.
