Responsibilities:
To contribute implementing UCEP Bangladesh’s values, vision, mission and goals, and development of future strategy documents as needed.
To introduce and promote ‘Decent Work’ and its implication in regard to job placement programme of UCEP Bangladesh.
In this regard, develop and disseminate necessary promotional and communication materials and organize discussions as needed with relevant stakeholders (e.g. community, employers, trade bodies, Industrial Skills Councils (ISCs), students etc.)
To assist DPO – Job Placement in developing and implementing an effective job placement strategy and mechanism for self and wage employment.
To assist in conducting surveys as required for identifying skills requirement of industry/sector and other employers.
To proactively consult with private sector and other employers to identify changes within occupations and its skills requirements and to inform TVET and Skills Training Programme accordingly.
To contact prospective employers and recruiting agencies and motivate them for providing employment to UCEP Bangladesh’s graduates at home and abroad.To prepare pre-employment profile of the graduates, update UCEP Bangladesh Job Portal accordingly and make plan for wage employment and self-employment.
To conduct career guidance session of the technical and general schools students. In this regard, identify and motivate relevant industry experts, employers, successful labour migrant returnees and successful UCEP Bangladesh graduates as resource persons for career guidance.
To facilitate entrepreneurship development training to the interested graduates and provide linkage for accessing startup capital to become self-employed entrepreneurs.
To arrange on the Job Training or apprenticeship for UCEP graduates in different industries.
To develop local resource mobilization mechanism to attain programme targets and ensure its effective implementation.
To ensure fundraising for covering the education / training cost of at least 10 percent students of UCEP Bangladesh schools prioritizing students from disadvantaged backgrounds for this quota.
To ensure new partnerships, funding opportunities and sponsorships from the private sector, industries, individuals etc.
To ensue trainee tracking through effective functioning of the Job Portal, provide timely inputs and maintain updated database.
To sensitize employers for employment of UCEP graduates irrespective of gender.
To assist DPO – JP in organizing Employers Committee and Advisory Council meetings, Employer’s Day, Job Fair and other meetings and events in all regions.
To follow-up the work places and residences of the graduates to monitor post-employment status and update Job Portal, prepare and share report accordingly.
To establish and maintain linkages and network with governmental and non-governmental employers, association/organization and other stakeholders and act strategically for its functioning.
To conduct effective job counseling session and arrange mock interviews for the students/graduates of technical schools.
To collect primary and secondary data relating to tracer studies, job market surveys and other studies as required.
To assist in preparing case studies of successful graduates and provide information for updating UCEP Bangladesh website and other communication channels and marketing interventions as required.
Promote and contribute to ongoing efforts towards gender equity & equality, child/staff protection & safeguard, inclusiveness, accessibility and discrimination free environment in the workplace and operations/activities/plans.
In applicable cases, ensure that necessary budget allocation is there and in KPIs these issues are reflected regarding employees under supervision.
To maintain strict confidentiality of information, documents and other internal and external communications.To carry out any other relevant tasks assigned by the UCEP authority as and when necessary.
