As part of this role, the job holder will be expected to adhere to and support FIVDB’s safety and security-related policies and systems in their day-to-day duties and always comply with safety and security protocols and directives, including reporting. The instructor must maintain situational and self–awareness and be aware of the safety and security-related consequences of his/her actions on him/herselves, in the institute and the organization.
Job Context:
The main role of this position will be to work as a member of technical team and teach the students of Diploma in Midwifery Education Program at FIVDB Midwifery Institute site for quality implementation of the Midwifery Education Program according to the set standards and curriculum. This position will closely facilitate and observe the quality of practice at the clinical practice site, clinic, hospital or in any other settings.
Job Responsibilities:
Work as a part of the Midwifery Education Team (MET)
Facilitate liaison with the clinical facilities (hospitals, clinics, medical colleges) to assist clinical training;
Orient students to the clinical sites , interactions with clients and identify gaps in service delivery, evaluate students` competencies during service delivery;
Accompany students to the clinic/hospitals when they are placed for clinical practices for midwifery practice.
This placement includes night shift.
Build the skills of the students in terms of normal vaginal delivery;
Maintain and prepare the skills labs for specific session demonstrations and teach students based on the lesson plan and the academic calendar;
Orient students on `formal case presentation format` and assist them to present the cases with fellow instructors;
Conduct assessment of student`s performance and communicate with fellow faculty regarding unsatisfactory or unsafe performance of the students;,
Develop modular exam questionnaires including OSCE guideline in close collaboration with fellow faculty;
Check the answer scripts for modular examination and grading;
Monitor for ensuring strict adherence to the academic calendar and fulfillment of set standards;
Develop individual clinical skills & competency as a part of continuous development and conduct classroom teaching related to simulation practice/skills;
Provide supportive assistance to the midwifery students as and when required to help them to understand the subject clearly;
Assist fellow faculty in ensuring the proper use of clinical and skills lab facilities;
Conduct other activities as and when assigned by the Supervisors.
