∎ National Alliance of Humanitarian Actors, Bangladesh (NAHAB) has been formed in Bangladesh on 26 January, 2017 and is committed to promote localization and to encourage and support national/local non-governmental humanitarian organizations for faster, needful and effective humanitarian actions in Bangladesh. Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is hosting the secretariat of NAHAB and is looking for the following position with the support from Give2Asia:
∎ Contact Status : Contractual (01 March, 2020 to 31 December, 2020)
∎ Reportable to : Chair, NAHAB and Executive Director of DAM
∎ Based : Dhaka, Bangladesh
∎ Primary Purpose of the Position:
∎ To fulfil the NAHAB strategic objectives through supporting the member organizations in effective systems advocacy that influences UN, INGOs and Private Sectors to emphasize the localization issues and better humanitarian response, coordination and resource mobilization.
∎ To actively participate in the Influencing Stream of NAHAB through its EC Committee and its member organizations for effective communication and convey the key messages internally and externally under Give2Asia supported project.
∎ Job Summary:
∎ Influencing Officer is responsible for working in relation to advocacy related matters of NAHAB and look after the activities of ongoing activities, liaison with Donor, GoB and other counter parts, conducting and arrange different training/meeting, Coordinating with project stakeholders, and advocacy work, facilitating enhancement of humanitarian preparedness and response capacity of the organization along with the relevant local and national humanitarian actors in Bangladesh. The vital role is to provide support to the team members in thematic areas and build an effective team. Another important role to keep proper documentation and reporting to the higher authority and donor as required.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Contribute to the NAHAB strategic plan and strive towards the stated goals as articulated in the Operational Plan (annual) of Give2Asia supported project.
∎ Provide informed, detailed and accurate sector and policy advice and maintain a comprehensive understanding of issues and trends in the humanitarian issues.
∎ Contribute to the NAHAB research and consultation agenda and assist the process as outlined in the specific project plan and /or individual work plans.
∎ Promote NAHAB's advocacy position to key stakeholders and consult directly with key stakeholders.
∎ Communicate with the member organizations for issue based influencing and message dissemination.
∎ Prepare quality/accurate reports, submissions, briefing papers and correspondence.
∎ Assist in the development and implementation of policy, research and advocacy initiatives.
∎ Contribute to developing media responses and actively monitor media activity around issues salient to the advocacy agenda.
∎ Contribute to internal communications i.e. e-news, NAHAB website and social media.
∎ Participate as an active member of the Influencing initiatives and Committee.
∎ Assist and participate in NAHAB national and international events such as conferences, roundtables, etc. as required.
∎ Conduct/facilitate the Capacity Assessment of Partner organizations and prepare the assessment report;
∎ Keep advance information of impending hazards and disseminate to the concern channel and control over the hot line and ensure the dissemination and communication and maintain roaster of standing team for emergency response;
∎ Make fruitful representation and presence in different Clusters and Cash Working Group meeting and maintain close coordination with different ministries to collect accurate data (pre- and post crisis of disaster);
∎ Demonstrated understanding of research processes and the ability to contribute to the development of research and consultation processes including the design, data collection and analysis of data.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years working experience preferably in the development field or climate change & DRR sector.
∎ Professional and Technical Skills:
∎ Ability to establish good relationship and rapport with stakeholders and partners; allure cooperation from other teams and maintain networks outside the organization;
∎ Skills to use different technological resources (computer, multimedia projector, internet, email, computer aided systems, widely used software etc);
∎ Excellent presentation, facilitation and writing skill both in Bangla & English;
∎ Strong interpersonal communication and networking skill;
∎ Media (Print, electronic and Social media) relations skills
∎ Personal Competencies:
∎ Must be a person who is self-motivated with good interpersonal skills and capacity to understand and work with people from all walks of life;
∎ Possess personal integrity, flexible attitude, sense of transparency, proactive stance and respect for gender and organizational culture;
∎ Competent to uphold organizational values, willingness to promote integrity in line with organizational mission and vision;
∎ Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Salary:
∎ BDT-50,000/month (Festival bonuses & other facilities as per DAM policy)
