Job Context:

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Implementing and supervising an infection control program in a project or health facility, according to MSF protocols, safety and IPC measures, in order to ensure quality of care and safety of patients, caretakers and staff.
∎ In collaboration with each service activity manager, maintaining and supporting the day to day implementation of the standard precautions in health structures in all departments including sterilization, laundry and kitchen, and providing technical supervision, training and support to the staff on IPC related issues using existing tools such as audits, checklist, surveillance.
∎ Implementing and monitoring adherence to additional precautions for air, droplet and contact transmissible diseases when indicated. Based on a given patient-diagnosis, evaluating the need and supporting the implementation, if needed, for additional precautions in collaboration with the medical team and act accordingly.
∎ Implementing as planned, the correct 'clean and dirty flows' inside the health facility. Ensuring that environmental standards in the facility are respected (bed spacing, number of handwashing stations etc.) and together with the Hospital Facilities Manager and WHS Supervisor, that the essential requirements are available in the health structures.
∎ Enforce all protocols related to universal precautions, health care waste management and infection control (inc. COVID-19, Cholera, TB infection control issues). To conduct a daily round with check list for each department and observe hand washing compliance and provide a weekly report of IPC activities.
∎ To provice technical support to the cleaners, hygiene promoters and waste zone operators, ensuring schedules and protocols are followed - working to a checklist of activities,
∎ To train health care workers on MSF standards and procedures as appropriate, e.g. safe preparation of chlorine solutions, cleaning of water filters, universal precautions and health care waste management,
∎ To check that all water points and containers are regularly filled, usable and correctly labelled in the local language.
∎ To check latrines are used correctly and cleaned regularly. To inform logistics of any faults and ensure all health care workers are correctly segregating medical waste,
∎ Every month to report key progress points on water, hygiene and sanitation software activities for incorporation in the Monthly Medical Report, e.g. trainings conducted, new systems implemented,
∎ Every 3 months to conduct the SIPCA report in collaboration with logistics. To report upon the percentage of compliance with Essential Requirements, to record and analyse results and make decisions on the points to improve,
∎ Coordinate and organize the IPC committee every month and take initiation to improve the IPC in the facility.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Previous experience working with MSF or other NGOs (Preferable with similar IPC activities). Experience in OT, Intensive Care Unit is an asset;

∎ English and Bangla essential.

∎ Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)

∎ Good communication and interpersonal skills; Able and interested in working in a multicultural context; Teamwork and Cooperation, stress management and oriented to quality and results.

Salary:
∎ Tk. 70055 - 70056 (Monthly)
∎ 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependants.
