Additional Requirements: Responsibilities & Context: 1. Surveillance and Monitoring:
- Conduct regular infection surveillance activities.
- Track and analyze infection rates and trends within the facility.
- Report findings to relevant healthcare teams and authorities.
2. Infection Prevention and Control Programs:
- Develop, implement, and maintain infection control policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate infection risks.
3. Education and Training:
- Provide ongoing education and training to healthcare staff on infection prevention and control practices.
- Develop educational materials and resources.
- Conduct orientation programs for new staff members.
4. Outbreak Investigation and Management:
- Lead investigations into infection outbreaks.
- Coordinate response plans and implement control measures.
- Communicate with public health officials as necessary.
5. Policy Development and Implementation:
- Develop and update infection control policies based on the latest guidelines and research.
- Ensure policies are effectively communicated and implemented across the facility.
6. Compliance and Audits:
- Conduct regular audits of infection control practices.
- Ensure compliance with standards set by accrediting bodies.
- Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections.
7. Consultation and Collaboration:
- Act as a resource for infection control-related issues.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to improve infection control practices.
- Participate in interdisciplinary committees and quality improvement initiatives.
