Responsibilities & Context: - Duty Station: Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar.
- Assignment duration: 06 months
- 40% travel, approximately.
- Working Hours: 08:30 AM to 05:00 PM.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- This internship is designed to provide an opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain practical experience in Information, counselling and legal assistance (ICLA) related activities in a professional setting. The intern will work closely with the department to support ICLA activities. Additionally, s/he will assist in communication and outreach efforts, focusing on raising awareness about key legal and protection topics in both camp and host communities.
- The intern will need to be highly motivated and passionate about supporting vulnerable Rohingya and host communities in accessing essential legal information, counselling, and legal assistance services. S/he should be dedicated to enhancing awareness on civil documentation, dispute resolution, and HLP protection mechanisms, thereby contributing to the rights, stability, and resilience of individuals in both camps and host community settings. S/he should be prepared to work collaboratively with a team and be able to demonstrate achieving the objectives of the ICLA program.
Key Tasks and Assignments:
- Assist (if needed) in conducting client intake, documentation, and follow-up in line with ICLA procedures.
- Document ongoing legal cases, capacity building trainings, referral cases, information sessions, and other core activities (if needed), under the guidance of the Supervisor.
- Contribute to data entry, report drafting, and case file management/hard copy collection, ensuring information is accurate and confidential.
- Assist in conducting Key Informant Interviews (KII) and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) for research and protection monitoring.
- Collaborate with ICLA team members during field visits, client assessments and other relevant activities.
- Prepare activity reports for the line manager, summarizing progress and key observations.
- Participate in community outreach and mobilization efforts, supporting information sessions on ICLA thematic areas.
- Perform additional tasks as required by project needs, adapting to dynamic program requirements and field conditions.
- Adhere to NRC and ICLA standards on ethical service delivery, data confidentiality, and safeguarding principles.
Responsibilities of NRC:
- NRC will provide the intern with a conducive working environment, effective supervision and guidance to ensure optimal learning; evident in regular supervisory meetings and a final performance evaluation
- NRC will provide the intern with a clear ToR, stipulating specific learning objectives and exact outcomes
- NRC will provide adequate induction to programs and the office
- NRC will provide the intern with access to working space; necessary equipment; information and other work-related resources
- Pay the prescribed stipend to interns in accordance with the guidelines
- Issue a letter of completion of internship to interns upon successful completion of the programme.
Responsibilities of the intern:
- The intern will be expected to adhere to all NRC regulations, policies and procedures
- The intern will participate in the induction session
- The intern will demonstrate motivated participation in the learning experience
- The intern will carry out his/her roles and responsibilities as specified in the ToR and guided by supervisor
