Job Context:
∎ Job Context: Social Assistance and Rehabilitation for the Physically Vulnerable (SARPV) is a non- government, non-political, Bangladeshi organization providing humanitarian support to the Rohingya people at Bhasan Char. As part of its Health & Nutrition interventions in support with WFP & UNHCR, SARPV is going to implement "Integrated nutrition intervention for Rohingya refugees living in Bhasan Char" project from 1st September 2022.

Job Responsibilities:

∎ Overall Objective:
∎ This person is responsible for carrying out health and nutrition education sessions for caregivers of children aged 6-59 months, Pregnant and Lactating Women in the Nutrition Center.
∎ Key Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure adequate health and nutrition education sessions in the center
∎ Warm welcoming to the caregivers and beneficiaries.
∎ Explain the prevention of malnutrition and follow up procedures in the nutrition center, especially regular presence and follow up of the treatment.
∎ Explain the importance of hygiene and sanitation in the center and at home (nail cutting, washing hands before taking meal and after latrine).
∎ Conduct health and nutrition sessions according to the schedule.
∎ Conduct porridge demonstration for newly admitted beneficiary.
∎ Conduct cooking demonstration to promote appropriate complementary feeding practices.
∎ Follow up visits in the nutrition center
∎ To conduct health and nutrition education sessions (breastfeeding counseling, complementary feeding, hygiene, care of pregnant and lactating women, proper advices to the caregivers and the beneficiaries on the proper way of feeding, especially for children).
∎ Follow up and receiving feedbacks on the previous topics of health and nutrition education sessions.
∎ To identify responsive beneficiaries and encourage others using positive deviance method.
∎ Follow up of cooking practices at home.
∎ Follow up of the hygiene and sanitation rules in the center and at home.
∎ To inform the dates and days of next visit and explain the importance of attending within due period.

∎ Growth monitoring promotion
∎ To promote growth monitoring using the plotted curve in the beneficiary card.
∎ To counsel the caregivers of vulnerable children (severe and moderate underweight) about the necessity of good practices to combat under nutrition.
∎ To encourage caregivers with children with good nutritional status, so that they would maintain the same care all the time.

∎ Reporting and statistic:
∎ To submit daily, weekly and monthly report on the number of sessions occurred and number of beneficiaries attended.
∎ Record findings and feedback of the beneficiaries and their caregivers on health and nutrition educations.
∎ Evaluate the improvement of caregivers' knowledge on health and nutrition related topics.
∎ To keep a daily tally on the number of responsive caregivers.
∎ Assist the nutrition staffs in the required tasks
∎ Assist the registrar
∎ Assist the CMAMI nurse in MHPSS activites when required
∎ Participate in the mobilization at center level.
∎ Performed the program related task assigned by the line manage

∎ Abiding by organizational and donor policies and humanitarian principles
∎ The position is expected to uphold the values of SARPV
∎ He/she must learn about the donor policies and abide by it.
∎ Humanitarian Principles must be upheld in daily implementation.
∎ Implement all work-related activities with a gender, disability and child protection lens, taking into account the different needs, concerns and ideas of the SARPV's staff and beneficiaries

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 1 year's professional experience in CMAM preferred.
∎ Ability to work flexibly including weekends and willingness to travel and work in remote island area and live in basic conditions.
∎ Good communication and presentation skills
∎ Language: Must be proficient in English and Bangla in both writing and speaking. Speaking in Chittagong language is preferable.

Salary: Negotiable

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Two days weekly holiday ( Friday & Saturday)
