Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Review life insurance applications for compliance and adherence
∎ Assess clients’ background information and financial status
∎ Liaise with specialists to gather information and opinions
∎ Excellent knowledge of life insurance policies and ability to relate policy provisions to the loss exposures
∎ Draw up a quote for competitive life insurance premiums
∎ Negotiate and define the specific terms of life insurance policies with agent or policyholders
∎ Keep detailed records of policies underwritten and decisions made
∎ Balance between mass and homogeneity of risks to achieve predictability of future results
∎ Develop and maintain a profitable book of business for the insurer
∎ Follow applicable life insurance laws
∎ Study life insurance proposals
∎ Gather and assess background information, including reports and medical records from specialists where appropriate, in order to effectively assess the risk involved.
∎ Analyze statistical information using specialist programmed
∎ Calculate possible risk and decide on the premium - how much individuals or organizations should pay for insurance
∎ Decide whether the risk should be shared with a reinsurer
∎ Ensure that premiums are competitive and that accounts remain profitable
∎ Write policies and help with policy wording
∎ Keep detailed and accurate records of policies underwritten and decisions made.
