Job Context:
∎ JOB PURPOSE: As the Head of Internal Audit, you`ll lead a team of over 100 staff responsible for auditing BRAC enterprises and development programs. BRAC adopts a risk-based audit approach and process-based evaluation of businesses. Within the Internal Audit Department, this position assumes a pivotal role in strategic development, process and policy refinement, operational activities, review and reporting, consultation with stakeholders, and team building. Effective presentation skills are also imperative for this role.
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
∎ Establish a safeguarding culture across all levels of the programme by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Responsible to ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and implemented in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Leading the department's staff and supervising their performance and professional development in alignment with the organization's goals, objectives, and policies.
∎ Developing the departmental annual audit plans and financial budget, and overseeing their implementation.
∎ Conducting audits to assess controls, operational and technical efficiencies, and compliance.
∎ Developing the current reporting system and refining reporting formats to facilitate clear and effective communication of internal audit observations to BRAC's management.
∎ Assisting in the development and implementation of a risk-based audit strategy and implementing annual plans through assurance and advisory services.
∎ Providing strategic level support to the Director, Internal Audit.
∎ Developing and updating internal audit policies, mandates, charters and manuals.
∎ Analysing existing controls and recommending improvements for operational efficiency.
∎ Keeping abreast of legislative issues, new audit regulations/trends, and appropriate audit methodologies.
∎ Collaborating with stakeholders, including program managers, donors, and external auditors.
∎ Safeguarding the organisation by implementing and supporting the safeguarding policy.

Additional Requirements:
∎ In addition, you should possess strong financial control, risk management, and business process evaluation skills; excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; analytical thinking and problem-solving skills; a proactive attitude and goal-oriented mindset; as well as effective people management and negotiation skills.
∎ 8-10 years of experience in Audit, Assurance, Compliance, and Finance/Accounting; expertise in IAS, IFRS, ISA, IIA Standards, and country-specific laws and regulations.
