Competences
Accountabilities
Organizing, training, and supervising the community health workers team in terms of planning and organizing their work,
participating in training and evaluating its needs, regularly visiting communities under his/her responsibility, elaborating relevant
material and establishing adequate strategies for delivering the focused information to the community.
• Ensuring delivery of information to community regarding hygiene, diseases and its prevention, using proper tools and informing
communities about MSF and the services it provides
• Monitoring, collecting and reporting to the medical team any information linked to the living conditions and the health situation
of the population (e.g. food security, vaccination status, nutritional situation, detection of medical needs of the population,
number of people arriving or leaving the community, births and deaths in the community, vaccination status of children, etc.).
• Maintaining confidentiality regarding all information observed or registered.
• Reporting to line manager or medical team if there are people with medical problems, any difficulties that
the CHWs might encounter during meetings with the population and any loss or damage of MSF materials
and equipment
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
Context: Hospital on the Hill (HoH)
The catchment population for HoH is 132563 (4 camps , camp 8w,17,18, 13) and OPD3 & OPD2
Activities:
• Work in direct collaboration with the health promotion volunteers in the field, plan and organize their work,
regularly visit the community ; Ensure health sessions’ quality Assist them to access key informants in the
community during case investigations or/and active case findings as well as rumor collection from the community.
• Collect all relevant information linked to the living conditions and the health situation of the population (e.g.
food security, vaccination status, nutritional situation, etc.)
• Collect community feedback on healthcare access in and out MSF facilities
• Ensure delivery of information to community regarding hygiene, diseases, and its prevention, using proper
tools and informing communities about MSF and the services it provides.
• Assist in developing, producing, testing and distribution of health messages and IEC materials and ensure
they are adapted and translated to the target populations.
• Oversee or lead the patient follow up, tracing missed appointment patients and surveillance alert cases,
health promotion, community engagements & early referrals.
• Report on weekly and monthly basis showing the progress of activities to be sent to the health promotion
supervisor in a timely manner.
• Ensure good linkage and communication between volunteers from other departments (GOPD, NCD, IPD &
MH)
• Ensure good communication and networking with community leaders
• Assist in facilitating meetings between community representatives and project team members.
• Maintaining confidentiality regarding all information observed or registered.
• Undertake any additional tasks assigned by the line manager to ensure smooth activities
• Collect and report security issues and context updates in time.
Security: Regular day to day collaboration with the Manager and Supervisor regarding camp situation to ensure safe
working environment for the team
Salary according to MSF salary grid (Level 4) BDT47500, two (2) annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents.
