Experience:
Minimum 15 years of experience in the Commercial Department of reputed export-based knit garments companies.
At least 5 years of experience in a senior position role of the Commercial department within a large garments manufacturing organization.
Strong working relationships with Bangladesh Bank, Ministry of Commerce, EPB, BGMEA, BKMEA, BIDA, and other government bodies.
Excellent knowledge of international and local laws regarding import and export operations in Bangladesh.
Proven leadership, team management, Financial management, cost control, and coordination abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Highly sincere, hardworking, and result-oriented.
Proficiency in MS Office applications and other relevant software.
Cotton Group is a renowned 100% export-oriented knit composite garments manufacturer dedicated to delivering world-class products to global markets. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Department (Commercial) to lead and oversee all operations of the department effectively.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead, supervise, and monitor the overall activities of the Commercial Department.
Guide and support the commercial team to ensure seamless execution of Import, Export, Export Documentation, Trade Finance, Banking, Customs, Bond, Licenses, C&F, Cash Incentive, Transportation, and related operations.
Ensure timely and accurate opening of Letters of Credit (LC) in compliance with company policies. Oversee the preparation of export documents for banks, C&F agents, BGMEA, EPB, BOND, BIDA, Customs, and other stakeholders.
Track and monitor various stages of all import processes.
Handle customs clearance procedures for imported materials, including LC processing.
Track and monitor export processes and ensure timely follow-up on export payments.
Maintain effective communication with buyers to resolve any issues and expedite payment processes.
Manage all Trade Finance activities efficiently.
Oversee the preparation and analysis of Commercial MIS reports and initiate necessary actions.
Maintain comprehensive records and reports related to import and export activities and present updates to management as required.
Develop and maintain strong liaison with banks, shipping lines, forwarding agents, BGMEA, BKMEA, and government organizations relevant to commercial operations.
Ensure timely coordination and documentation for vehicle programs provided to C&F agents for import and export consignments.
