∎ We are seeking a Grants Specialist for our USAID Feed the Future Livestock Production for Improved Nutrition Project. The project seeks to impact rural household nutrition by improving the utilization of livestock products, and food security. The Grants Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that grant solicitations, Applications, proposals, and awards adhere to ACDI/VOCA`s assistance policies and procedures. He/she also ensures proper negotiation of the terms and conditions for grants and views and analyzes budget estimates for allowability, allocability, reasonableness, and consistency.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Manage grant fund program, including draft grant documents, communicate with grantees throughout both the grant application process and grant implementation, and close out grants.
∎ Periodically review the LPIN grants process to ensure it meets the basic principles of grants management and compliance requirements and recommend revisions as necessary.
∎ Communicate with grantees on selection or non-selection of their applications in a transparent manner. Conduct debriefs with non-selected grantees as requested by the grantee or as directed by the COP.
∎ Conduct mandatory training for all grantees regarding financial and technical reporting requirements.
∎ Oversee grantee invoicing, reporting, and other administrative functions to coordinate the processing of financial reports/payments, and the technical review and acceptance of milestones/deliverables as relevant.
∎ Review and analyze grantee's performance and budgets, make budget reduction recommendations as needed for cost control, and/or grant termination recommendations for poor performance as needed.
∎ Coordinate with the Senior Finance Manager to ensure consistent reporting of grantee financial data between the Finance and Grant departments and help resolve any grant data differences.

∎ Demonstrated experience designing and overseeing different USAID grant mechanisms.

∎ Demonstrated knowledge of USAID assistance regulations and reporting requirements and ability to apply them to programmatic work.
∎ Demonstrated experience in formulating and implementing policies and procedures.
∎ Ability to communicate technical, budgetary and program details to staff, grantees and applicants.
∎ Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and produce quality results on time with attention to detail.
∎ Ability to design and implement effective workflow processes and procedures.
∎ Excellent analytical skills; able to quickly grasp and effectively communicate complex concepts.
∎ Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
∎ Ability to work independently with remote support from ACDI/VOCA Headquarters office.
