Job Context:
∎ USAID`s Nobo Jatra (NJ)/ New Beginning, a Food for Peace (FFP) Program for 5 years implemented by World Vision Bangladesh (WVB), World Food Programme (WFP) and Winrock International, in partnership with Bangladesh`s Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief (MoDMR) is designed to reduce food insecurity and vulnerability for 856, 116 direct participants in 40 Unions of four Upazilas; Shyamnagar and Kaligonj under Satkhira District and Koyra and Dacope under Khulna District in the southwestern coastal area of Bangladesh.
∎ The main purpose of this position is to provide technical guidance and support to the partner NGO for implementing Good Governance and Social Accountability component’s activities in the respective Upazila.
∎ The Good Governance & Social Accountability Officer will be responsible for Upazila level coordination with respective government officials to create positive environment to implement the component’s activities as well as ensuring the quality implementation by Partner NGO.
∎ She/he will work closely with the Partner NGO regarding capacity building of PNGO staff as well as strengthening the village development Committee, Union Parishad Standing Committee in his/her assigned Upazila with the technical guidance of Good Governance and Social Accountability Manager.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure the capacity building of PNGO staff through different training, orientation and workshop.
∎ Ensure necessary technical support to PNGO for smooth implementation of the component’s activities.
∎ Improve the relationship among the sectoral staffs to implement the activities in coordinated way.
∎ Ensure the effective process for strengthening the Village Development Committees and implementation of CVA approach in an effective way.
∎ Improve the relationship with government officials at Upazila Level and Union Parishad to implement the activities to ensure governance at the local level.
∎ Ensure the proper monitoring of PNGO as well as proper documentation and reporting by PNGO.
∎ Documentation & Reporting as per the requirement.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 28 years
∎ Have clear understanding of project implementation.
∎ Extensive knowledge related to good governance and advocacy understanding specially policy, system change.
∎ Oral and written communication skills in English and Bengali.
∎ Computer literacy, including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
∎ Ability to drive a motorbike.
∎ Valid motorbike license or willingness to attain one.
∎ Minimum of 04 years’ working experience advocacy field.
∎ Have experience of supervising others.
∎ Have experience train others.
