Job Context:
∎ Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and nonprofit development organization that has been operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices (Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, and Sylhet Region). CB is currently operating 89 projects covering 189 Upazilas focusing on six main priorities: i) Social Welfare for Vulnerable Communities (SWVC), ii) Education and Child Development, iii) Nutrition and Health Education, iv) Disaster Management, v) Ecological Conservation and Food Security (ECFS), and vi) Development of Indigenous Peoples.
∎ Caritas Bangladesh (CB)`s Chattogram Regional Office is looking for suitable candidates for the project of "Supporting end-to-end Landslide Early Warning and Anticipatory Action in Bangladesh" supported by Catholic Relief Services (CRS) - Bangladesh funded by USAID`s BHA and also to generate a panel for future recruitment.

∎ Reporting to: Project Coordinator
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Gender, Protection & Inclusion Officer is responsible to ensure the unique needs of at-risk populations including women, youth, minority groups and people with disability are integrated into the design and delivery of a landslide early warning approach of the project. This position will directly contribute to the delivery of the project objectives through coordinating and reporting on all project activities.
∎ Coordinate with Regional and Central Safeguarding team including CRS to ensure quality program and capacity building of the community under guidance of Project Coordinator.
∎ Support the development and integration of the GESI and protection action into the project's detailed implementation plan. Ensure all project activities to meet Caritas and donor's protection, gender, equity and inclusion requirements as well as best practice.
∎ Ensure GESI and protection related learning properly accompanies project activities throughout the project cycle. Support accountability through related input into project monitoring and evaluation activities and guide partners in their efforts to reflect on project experiences. Analyze implementation challenges and report any inconsistencies and/or gaps and adjustment plan within implementation schedules.
∎ Arrange and facilitate GESI and protection trainings for staff and community.
∎ Develop content and pictorial materials for conducting sessions related on GESI and protection.
∎ Regularly report on and update the GESI and protection action plan.
∎ With the MEAL team, support the collection and analysis of evidence and lead in the adaptation of project activities to effectively respond to context, finding and best practices in protection and GESI to create an optimal Landslide Early Warning system for at risk communities.
∎ Identify staff, partners and related stakeholder protection and GESI related capacity needs and administer technical support to address key shortfalls. Support may include training, mentoring or coaching.
∎ Facilitate an engage process of ongoing learning and sharing of best practices in protection, gender, equity and social inclusion with and amongst project staff, partners, participants and other key internal/external stakeholders.
∎ Serve as the primary technical resource, mentor and coach for project staff on protection and GESI ensuring key innovations, approaches and principles are fully contextualized where appropriate.
∎ Serve as the project protection and GESI subject matter expert at key working groups and provide inputs as needed.
∎ Participate and represent organization at different level of other organizations or platforms.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 30 to 45 years
∎ Age: 30 - 45 years (as on 30/09/2023)
∎ Minimum of 3 years of work experience in the field of Gender Equality and Social Inclusion and for an NGO.
∎ Work experiences in USAID's BHA/OFDA fund will be treated as an advantage.
∎ Having knowledge on hazards and shocks in the contexts on Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) and Cox's Bazar of Bangladesh.
∎ Ability to produce high quality reports and database within the stipulated timeframe.
∎ Evidence of having undertaken similar assignments.
∎ Work with the team as per management requirement.
∎ Ability to travel extensively to working locations and willing to stay at field
Salary:
∎ Salary: Taka 70,000/-
