Job Context:
∎ The purpose of this position is to provide technical leadership and advice on gender equality and social inclusion to the BIYA Project to build overall technical capacity on activities related to GESI analysis and programming focusing on equity, power relations and control of resources. This position will be responsible for providing technical support to the project team to build overall technical capacity on activities related to gender equality and social inclusion following twin track approach (specific and mainstreaming). GESI specialist will directly engage youth systems actors to improve youth access to equitable economic opportunities and strengthen the capacity of youth-led and youth-serving organizations to coordinate effectively as well as with other stakeholders to increase knowledge of and access to youth systems, ultimately elevating their contributions to Bangladesh’s inclusive social and economic development goals.
∎ This position is contingent on funding.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Technical leadership to the project team on activities related to GESI integration and sensitization including capacity building, GESI analysis and programming.
∎ Support in planning and implementing context specific Youth/Adolescent development and vocational training initiatives in an inclusive manner
∎ Coordinate and provide technical expertise and guidance to the project in mainstreaming gender and disability.
∎ Strengthen networking and advocacy related to disability and Gender.
∎ Ensure the inclusion of marginalized youth throughout BIYA design and implementation via youth-led assessments conducted with a diversity of youth, an inclusive and participatory Project Leadership Committee, and monitoring and learning activities Promote the sharing of experiences and collaborative ‘Best Practices’ for the benefit of the Consortia.
∎ Ensure inclusivity in youth engagement for capacity building of youth led organization, skill development and job opportunity.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 28 years

∎ A thorough understanding of LEAP/TDI/CWBO/IPM and other global initiatives.
∎ Strong Knowledge on social dimension, structure of the government including laws and policies formulation process, power dynamics, government relations.
∎ Theory of change and logical framework development
∎ Database management, statistical skills and ability to critically evaluate data
∎ Supervisor/Management, Interpersonal, organizational savvy, Problem solving, negotiation, communication and collaborative skills, time management, management ability
∎ Solid understanding of Gender and development and current situation in Bangladesh
∎ Solid understanding of disability rights (including UNCRPD and Bangladesh mechanisms relating to this).
∎ Strong understanding of disability situation in Bangladesh and current GO/NGO mechanisms to address this
∎ Understand the vision, mission of World Vision
∎ Understand the Humanitarian industry
∎ Holistic Understanding of poverty and development

∎ At least 5 years’ experience in Sector Coordination in a complex, international organization preferably in NGO context.
∎ At least 5 years of experience in the field of Gender and/or Disability preferably in the Bangladesh NGO context.
∎ Experience of analyzing Government laws/policies for the purpose of policy advocacy.
∎ Proven knowledge and experience on CVA, understanding of social accountability
∎ Professional experience in resource/grants acquisition & management
∎ Extensive experience working with relevant government agencies as well as local and international NGOs
∎ Proven management ability
∎ Proven experience as a team player
∎ Must be willing and able to travel nationally up to 16 weeks per annum.
