Experience:
University degree, preferably in psychology, women’s studies, social work, or public health with minimum of two years-experience in humanitarian settings, or equivalent to a combination of training and experience.
Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Gender Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience and Skills:
• A minimum of 2 years-experience in the field of migration, IDP and refugee assistance and protection (including specific experience on GBV case management or counselling).
• Clear understanding of GBV guiding principles, gender, human rights, issues surrounding violence against women and girls.
• Experience in emergency.
• Knowledge of foundational concepts in relation to GBV guiding principles and Protection mainstreaming (IASC Protection Policy, Sphere Standards, Child Protection Minimum Standards, ICRC Professional Protection Standards, GBV Standard Operating Procedures; IASC GBV Guidelines; IASC Gender Handbook; WHO Ethical and Safety Recommendations for Researching, Documenting and Monitoring Sexual Violence in Emergencies; Camp Management Toolkit etc.)
• Skilled in counselling and/or case management.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in GBV prevention, risk mitigation and response, case management, or psychosocial support, preferably in humanitarian settings.
Prior experience working in Rohingya refugee camps or host communities will be an asset

Background/Purpose:
Under the overall supervision of the GBV Coordinator and the GBV Senior Field Assistant or GBV Case- Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing individual case management in coordination with IOM’s Senior field Assistant The successful candidate will provide survivor-centred case management and psychosocial interventions in line with interagency Case management including sector SOPs in the Women and Girls’ Safe Space and IOM guidelines.
The GBV Case Worker will be responsible for providing quality, survivor-centered case management services to women and girls affected by gender-based violence (GBV). This position plays a crucial role in ensuring timely, confidential, and appropriate support services in line with GBV guiding principles—safety, confidentiality, respect, and non-discrimination. The Case Worker will also support GBV risk mitigation activities and community-based initiatives to strengthen prevention and response mechanisms in both camp and host community settings.

Duty station: Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Case Management and Psychosocial Support-40%
• Provide direct case management services in line with interagency Case Management guidelines and other relevant GBV related SOPs and best practice guidelines to facilitate a survivor-centered approach in working in collaboration with IOM GBV. When necessary, coordinate with IOM Counter-Trafficking and General Protection teams as part of case consultation. Conduct intake and comprehensive r assessment and follow up based on client’s needs; including basic individual counselling, the development, implementing and monitoring of case action plans with clients; support to clients in accessing available multisectoral services.
• Contribute to development of IOM’s GBV programming based on the knowledge of the needs in the field; Maintain up to date knowledge of referral pathways and services at camp level.
• Facilitate referrals and follow-ups to ensure survivors’ access to multi-sectoral services (health, legal aid, MHPSS, shelter, and livelihoods).
• Maintain updated service mapping and strengthen referral pathways with relevant actors.
• Ensure safe and confidential record keeping, adhering to data protection protocols and GBVIMS+ standards (if applicable).
GBV Risk Mitigation and Prevention- 30%
• Be a front liner in the camps in protection and GBV-centered emergency preparedness and response structures and host communities including interagency response structures working with the Protection sector and GBV subsector.
• Identify the need of GBV awareness among beneficiaries, IOM staff and other stakeholders to facilitate periodic GBV training and awareness sessions as needed.
• Participate in community assessments including safety audits and community risk assessments to identify and implement actions to mitigate GBV risks in targeted areas.
• Work with Psychosocial support (PSS) officer, volunteers and community groups, including women and adolescent groups, to raise awareness on risks, GBV concerns, rights, and available services.
• Support implementation of community-based initiatives to reduce risks and promote gender equality.
Coordination and Collaboration-10%
• Maintain positive working relationships with relevant stakeholders including community leaders, partners, government officials, other sector staff and other implementing organizations on the ground.
• Work closely with IOM staffs including those working at other WGSS staff and community volunteers to plan activities that respond to identified needs to ensure safe referral to GBV case management services, contribute to risk mitigation and prevention of GBV overall.
• Participate in regular case review meetings and case conferences under the guidance of the GBV Case Management Supervisor.
• Coordinate closely with protection, health, MHPSS, and livelihoods partners for survivor support.
• Contribute to GBV sub-sector coordination by sharing relevant information and adhering to reporting requirements.
Monitoring, Reporting, and Documentation-10%
• Collect, store, and present GBV related data in line with IOM’s ethics, standards, and guidelines as well as interagency reporting requirements as needed to contribute data analysis and GBV trend analysis (GBVIMS and Primero system).
• Prepare timely and accurate case management reports, and monthly progress updates.
• Ensure documentation of lessons learned and best practices and conduct survivor satisfactory survey identify improve areas for GBV case management services.
• Maintain survivor files securely and ensure data confidentiality in all circumstances.
Capacity Building and Professional Development-10%
• Attend regular trainings and capacity-building sessions on GBV response, psychosocial support, and self-care.
• Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and debriefing sessions.
