∎ The Asia Foundation seeks an experienced Finance and Grants Officer for the upcoming Civic Engagement Fund project funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The Civic Engagement Fund aims to contribute to a peaceful, just and inclusive Bangladesh with a vibrant, pluralistic and independent civil society that enables people to claim their civic and human rights, enhanced accountability and transparency of institutions and that defends open and democratic spaces. This position is contingent upon funding.
∎ The successful candidate will be based in Dhaka and will be responsible for financial oversight and compliance. The Finance and Grants Officer will develop and oversee project finance, grants management, and reporting systems; and support the Team Leader and project staff in managing grants under three funding windows for civil society organizations. The Finance and Grants Officer will ensure compliance with the financial standards and policies of The Asia Foundation and SDC. The Finance and Grants Officer is expected to have strong interpersonal skills and written and oral presentation skills to fulfill the diverse requirements of the role.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under the overall management and supervision of the Team Leader, and with coordination the Finance and Grants Officer will be responsible for the implementation of financial and grants management systems, policies, and procedures that are consistent with the Foundation's policies and practices as well as SDC guidelines and policies.
∎ Provide guidance and support to the program team on all matters related to Finance and Grants and coordinate with program staff as required to manage grants and contracts.
∎ Ensure efficient grants/fund management of CSO partners in the various funding windows, and develop granting mechanisms under three different funding windows.
∎ Provide timely financial reporting based on TAF and SDC requirements.
∎ Closely monitor and track project spending, and identify and mitigate project risks.
∎ Coordinate with Team Leader and project staff on project deliverables.
∎ Prepare various books of accounts, financial statements like receipts and payments, variance reports, budgets, and Bank reconciliation statements.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least seven years' work experience in financial management position, with solid experience in finance, budgeting, accounting, and grants management.
∎ Knowledge of one or more accounting software is required, such as SAP, QuickBooks, Tally, or any other Accounting Software.
∎ Experience in working with accounting systems and maintaining financial records.
∎ Experience in working with SDC projects is preferred.
∎ Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Bangla.
