Responsibilities & Context:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Purchase Officer to oversee procurement and inventory management for hospital supplies, medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and consumables. The ideal candidate will ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining high quality standards and seamless hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors/suppliers for medical supplies, surgical instruments, medicines, and general hospital operational materials.
Issue Purchase Orders (POs) accurately and track delivery schedules to ensure zero disruption in clinical operations.
Coordinate with department heads (ICU, OT, Pharmacy, Maintenance) to assess periodic inventory requirements.
Conduct vendor performance evaluations based on product quality, price competitiveness, and timely delivery.
Inspect incoming goods in coordination with store/inventory teams to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
Maintain meticulous procurement records, contracts, invoices, and supplier databases.
Monitor stock levels to prevent stock-outs or overstocking of critical medical items.
Handle return/replacement of damaged or defective medical goods with suppliers.
