∎ Under the overall supervision of the Project Manager, the Livelihood Filed Promoter will be responsible for Implementation of livelihood project activities in the host community in Ukhiya Upazila, Cox`s Bazar. He/she will be responsible for conducting community mobilizations, participant/beneficiary selection, vocational training as well as liaise with local authorities or relevant stakeholder for project implementation.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assist in livelihood development projects, activities, initiatives guided by the Project Manager and in line with the organizational response strategies.
∎ Assist the Project Manager to identify target families using set criteria and help in identification of suitable livelihood options for the targeted households in host community.
∎ Provide support to targeted households to develop, plan and carry out selected livelihood projects at household, groups, and community levels.
∎ Ensure regular in-person visits to targeted households, locations of their livelihood activities and provide necessary guidance.
∎ Make sure that the support provided by the organization in the form of capital, tools and training are being used by the targeted household as per the purposes agreed.
∎ Work with the individual household, group and community and ensure their participation in training and capacity building activities. This includes follow up to ensure uses of gained knowledge and skills.
∎ Conduct discussions, interviews with targeted households, community members and stakeholder to capture stories, case studies as agreed with Project Manager.
∎ Work with Project Manager and MEAL unit to assist survey, data/information collection and share with relevant team members as advised.
∎ Assist Project Manager to ensure preparation of quality reports in time and in line with suggested template.
∎ Assist Project Manager to maintain close coordination with targeted local stakeholders such as I/NGOs, CBOs, local leaders, government officials, etc.
∎ Supervise the Livelihood activities at the grassroots level, identify changes, challenges and opportunities and share them with the Project Manager.
∎ Safety and Security
∎ Assess and consult other partners to ensure security situation of planned locations is calms; Ensure risk assessment and share security information with the line manager.
∎ Provide timely incident report to the line manager as needed.
∎ Ensure proper community
∎ General
∎ Deliver high quality results in line with the terms of reference agreed in advance – to do this in a way which maintains the reputation of the Humanitarian Department.
∎ Comply with HEKS/EPER policies and practice with respect to code of conduct, PSEAH Policy, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
∎ Proactively support HEKS commitments to gender equality, child protection and disability sensitivity: i) Implement all work-related activities with a gender, disability and child protection lens, considering the different needs, concerns and ideas of our staff and beneficiaries ii)Ensure the incorporation of gender equity principles in all policies and activities iii) Encourage the participation of all genders in meeting and on committees iv)Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender or limited due to manageable disability.
∎ To perform such other responsibilities as agreed with your line management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 14 years
∎ Keep strong coordination with other implementing agencies and local governmental authorities at field level.
∎ Knowledge on different standards (Sphere, Core Humanitarian Standards, etc).
∎ Good communication and leadership skills.
∎ Knowledge and experience of community mobilization & Complaint Feedback & Response Mechanism will be an added advantage.
∎ Familiarity with the special context of refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar is an asset.
∎ Good English skills (written and spoken).
∎ Fluency on Cox’s Bazar Local dialect is an asset.
∎ Ability to establish collaborative relationships with staff, beneficiaries and other stakeholders.
∎ Strong attitude to take initiative, work autonomously and achieve results effectively; Flexibility and Stress-management.
