Shepherd Group, a foreign-owned leading name in the Textile Industry, is currently seeking a dynamic Textile Engineer who will be responsible for overseeing the dyeing, finishing, knitting and quality control operations to ensure all fabrics meet required standards. The role requires strong technical knowledge of dyeing processes, chemical handling, fabric behavior, and quality assurance protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Dyeing Operations

• Monitor and control dyeing recipes, chemical dosing, temperature, and process parameters.
• Ensure accurate shade matching and maintain consistent color quality.
• Evaluate dyeing machines’ performance and recommend improvements.
• Troubleshoot dyeing defects such as uneven dyeing, patchiness, shade variation, etc.

Finishing Operations

• Supervise finishing processes including heat setting, chemical finishing, Brushing, peach finishing, Compacting and drying.
• Optimize finishing chemicals and processes to improve fabric hand feel, appearance, and performance.
• Ensure proper machine settings to achieve the required GSM, width, shrinkage, and surface finish.

Quality Control

• Conduct in-process and final quality inspections for dyed and finished fabrics.
• Ensure compliance with buyer specifications and internal quality standards.
• Identify quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Maintain records of quality tests such as colorfastness, shrinkage, PH, tear strength, etc.

Knitting:

      · Need to understand yarn, knitting parameters, and yarn quality

      · Plan and supervise daily knitting production to meet target output.

      · Set machine parameters (GSM, stitch length, speed, yarn tension).

      · Ensure proper machine calibration and settings for different fabric types.

      · Monitor circular knitting machines (Mayer & Cie, Fukuhara, Santoni, Terrot, etc.).

Technical & Reporting

• Develop SOPs for dyeing, finishing, and quality processes.
• Maintain batch-wise production and quality reports.
• Coordinate with R&D for new shade development, sample preparation, and process trials.
• Work closely with production, maintenance, and planning teams to ensure smooth operations.
