Job Purpose
The Executive, MEAL will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning framework of the Single-Use Plastic-Free Model School Campaign across assigned schools. The role ensures systematic data collection, progress tracking, compliance monitoring, stakeholder feedback, and documentation of learning to support evidence-based decision-making and project scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Monitoring
- Conduct monthly field visits to assigned schools (approximately 25 schools per Executive).
- Monitor implementation of project activities, including Green Club operations, workshops, canteen SOP compliance, and SUP reduction initiatives.
- Track student participation, teacher engagement, vendor compliance, and community involvement.
- Use standardized Monthly School Checklists and monitoring tools to assess progress against targets.
- Verify adoption of sustainable alternatives to single-use plastics within school premises.
Evaluation
- Support baseline, midline, and endline surveys to assess changes in SUP usage, awareness, and behavior.
- Assist in quarterly SUP reduction assessments and documentation of progress toward the targeted 80% reduction.
- Collect and compile quantitative and qualitative data for evaluation reports.
- Support the MEAL Lead during mid-term evaluation workshops and final project assessments.
Accountability
- Collect structured feedback from students, teachers, parents, vendors, and School Governing Body (SGB) members.
- Identify implementation challenges, risks, and grievances at the field level and report them promptly.
- Ensure transparency and ethical data collection practices in line with organizational policies.
- Follow up on corrective actions to address identified gaps or non-compliance.
Learning & Knowledge Management
- Document case studies, best practices, success stories, and lessons learned from assigned schools.
- Support preparation of bi-annual learning briefs and internal knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Contribute to refining monitoring tools, indicators, and reporting templates based on field learning.
- Assist in visual documentation (photos, short videos, testimonials) to showcase project impact.
Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare and submit monthly monitoring reports to the MEAL Lead in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain organized records of surveys, checklists, attendance sheets, and visual documentation.
- Coordinate closely with Green Club moderators, school authorities, vendors, and project staff.
- Support donor, stakeholder, and partner reporting requirements as needed.
