Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or a related field.
Professional certification is highly desirable.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.
The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
EHS roles within the World Bank, JICA funded construction project.
In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations, standards and best practices.
Spectra Engineers Limited is seeking qualified candidate to join this team in the role of “Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Officer”.
EHS Management System Implementation:
Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure the effectiveness of the EHS management system.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
Identify potential hazards and conduct risk assessments for construction activities.
Develop and implement risk mitigation plans to prevent accidents and incidents.
Training and Awareness:
Design and deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility through continuous education and awareness campaigns.
Compliance and Reporting:
Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant EHS regulations, standards, and guidelines.
Prepare and submit Monthly Environmental Health and Safety Reports to regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders as required.
Incident Management:
Lead investigations into EHS incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Maintain records of incidents, inspections, and training activities.
Environmental Stewardship:
Develop and implement environmental management plans to minimize the impact of construction activities on the environment.
Monitor and manage waste disposal, pollution control, Dust Control, Sound control and resource conservation efforts.
Emergency Preparedness:
Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness.
Coordinate with local emergency services and stakeholders to enhance response capabilities.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, and community stakeholders on EHS matters.
Participate in project meetings and provide EHS expertise to project teams.
