Position Overview:
The Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, configuration, and maintenance of networking devices, computer systems, and software environments. The role focuses on providing technical support to clients, diagnosing and resolving issues, and maintaining system performance reports. This position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong client support skills, and readiness to work flexible schedules, including shifts and weekends.
Key Accountabilities & Activities:
Networking Installation & Maintenance
Install, configure, implement, and maintain networking devices, including Mikrotik, Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and network issues.
Ensure proper maintenance of the Network Management System (NMS) and bandwidth usage based on client requirements.
Client Support
Attend and resolve customer complaints via phone calls, email, or onsite visits as required.
Provide support to clients on Operating Systems (Windows/Linux), network configurations, internet links, and related services.
Respond to client inquiries, provide accurate information, and ensure appropriate follow-up actions.
Utilize the online ticketing system to manage and resolve client issues efficiently.
Monitoring & Reporting
Monitor and report on network performance daily, weekly, and monthly as directed by senior management.
Maintain detailed documentation of network links, new users, tasks, and equipment.
Report network usage against client requirements and ensure optimal system performance.
System Maintenance
Perform daily maintenance of PCs and laptops, including the installation and configuration of operating systems (Windows/Linux) and software.
Ensure regular updates and troubleshooting of IT systems to maintain high performance and security standards.
Routing & Protocol Management
Maintain knowledge of routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP) and tunneling methods for effective configuration and troubleshooting.
