Responsibilities & Context:

Job Purpose

A Project/Site Engineer supports the Supervisor in executing construction or engineering projects, handling tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, reporting, material management, procurement, QA/QC, and contract support. The role demands strong technical expertise, organizational skills, and effective stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and prepare comprehensive, accurate, and timely submittal logs for construction projects, ensuring alignment with project drawings and specifications.

  • Accountable for receiving approved submittals from Architect or Engineer and notifying the Project Supervisor of potential schedule impact.

  • Support the Supervisor by preparing all required documentation and backup materials for change requests.

  • Oversee and monitor all construction processes by being present on-site.

  • Coordinate with government inspectors to ensure compliance with site requirements, including licenses and safety standards.

  • Ensure timely completion of all required project close-out documents per contract.

  • Distribute contract documents to subcontractors, including drawings, specifications, general conditions, and any accepted alternates or addendums

  • Proactively manage the project to ensure quality, schedule, budget, and safety objectives are met. Utilize and maintain tools such as schedule and document management systems to track and record project performance.

  • Collect measurements, prepare the bill, and ensure prompt payment to subcontractors and suppliers based on the percentage of completion, in accordance with the timeline upon receipt of payment from the Owner.

  • Monitor staffing requirements, evaluate performance, and address employee relations issues as needed for the team.

  • Prepare the inventory list upon completion and hand it over to the concerned authority, ensuring proper formalities are maintained.

  • Organize meetings with the project staff to identify and resolve any blockages, consult with and inform the relevant authority, and ensure the smooth continuation of the work.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
