Job Responsibilities:
∎ Represent the Asst. Director of Rooms Division in his absence.
∎ Ensures brand standards are adhered to at all times
∎ Focus on guest experience - as a hotel we must create memorable moments through optimal interaction.
∎ Pro-actively seeks feedback from guests and follows up on any issues that may arise / feedback given. Consistently engage guests around the hotel and respond to positive and negative comments, identify areas of dissatisfaction, follow-up to ensure this is resolved, and look for ways to pamper the guest (make magic) - this is key for service recovery.
∎ Provide support to all departments, and work closely with departments like Front office, F&D, Kitchen, Housekeeping, Sales, Accounting and Engineering, IT, etc while fostering effective guest and employee relations throughout the hotel.
∎ In line with approved standards, coordinate the entire hotel operations to provide the highest standard of service to every guest. Be where the guests are whilst delivering excellent customer service at all times, ensuring guests comfort and security.
∎ Investigate all guest and employee accidents and lead procedures during an emergency.
∎ Deals with Guest feedback/ incidents / accidents promptly and in a professional manner. Ensure every guest leaves the hotel happy.
∎ Oversees and participates in the VIP arrivals meet and greet - Inspect pre-assigned accommodations for VIP guests, to ensure that rooms are prepared according to standard. Ensure interaction with every VIP guest checking in.
∎ Review the physical control of the property in an ongoing process and signal needed touch-up maintenance. Carryout spot checks around the hotel in such areas as guest rooms, canteen, locker rooms, etc. Ensure all outlets (M&E inclusive) are set-up as per standard, at the right time.
∎ Brings major needs for repair to the attention of the Engineering Department.
∎ Ensure quality control and correct application of policies and procedures, as well as SOP's. Carry out random SOP audits to ensure standards are maintained.
∎ EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
∎ Fosters and develops effective employee relations in all departments, and throughout the hotel.
∎ Looks for ways to motivate and challenge employees.
∎ Responsible Business: show involvement and be interested in environmental and/or social issues by participating in Responsible Business hotel and departmental activities.
∎ Lives, instils and executes the Every Moment Matters philosophy throughout the hotel.
∎ Makes sure Employees deliver quality guest services within departmental and corporate standards and guidelines.
∎ Ensures we apply with the RHG code of business ethics.
∎ HEALTH AND SAFETY
∎ Ensures that all potential and real hazards are reported and reduced immediately.
∎ Fully understands the hotel's fire, emergency, and bomb procedures and/or understands the escalation procedures.
∎ Fully understand and be able to execute the crisis management escalation procedures in absence of Hotel Manager.
∎ Ensures that emergency procedures are practised and enforced to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees.
∎ Ensures that all employees within own department work in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others.
∎ Stimulates and encourages a general awareness of health and safety in tasks and activities managed within the department.
∎ Ensures the safety of the people and property within the premises by applying hotel regulations, and adhering to existing laws and regulations.
∎ Anticipates possible and probable hazards and conditions and either corrects them or take action to prevent them from happening.
∎ Ensures that the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct of hotel employees is maintained by all employees in the department.
∎ SPECIAL SKILLS
∎ Experience and knowledge to oversee transport, Spa, Gym and Swimming pool.
∎ MISCELLANEOUS
∎ Ensures guest satisfaction by attending to their requests and inquires courteously and efficiently.
∎ Accepts flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to hotel guests.
∎ Is well updated on, and possesses solid knowledge of the following:
∎ Hotel fire, bomb, emergency procedures and crisis management
∎ Hotel health and safety policies and procedures
∎ Hotel facilities and nearby sights of interest and importance (i.e. hospitals, stations, tourist sights)
∎ Hotel standards of operation and departmental procedures
∎ Current licensing relating to own department and to the hotel
∎ Accepted methods of payment by the hotel
∎ Short and long term hotel as well as corporate marketing and promotional programs
∎ Corporate clients and clients generating high business volume

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 25 years
