Educational Requirements:
∎ Ability to read and write in mother language with minimum SSC standards

Job Context:
∎ Duty Station/ organization: Mother and Child Health Centre, Teknaf/ Bangladesh Red Crescent society, Population Movement Operation
∎ Reporting to: Manager, Mother and Child Health Centre (MCHC)
∎ Period of contract: Fixed term contract for one year, and extension subject to performance and fund availability
∎ Purpose: The purpose of the ambulance driver is to drive the ambulances, and to safe transport the sick, injured, or people needing special care, and administer first aid such as bandaging, splinting, and administering oxygen when needed during patient shifting.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Undertake routine vehicle check-up, meter reading, log-book signature, fuel and lubricant reading, and report any mechanical issues to Logistic/ Concerned Department.
∎ Ensuring ambulance maintenance as per the vehicle warranty and maintenance policy
∎ Prepare incident report and immediately inform the line manager in case of an accident happened
∎ Take instruction from line manager for patient transport, and ensure ambulance equipment's are fit for purpose
∎ Respect to speed limit and traffic norms.
∎ Support paramedical staff in boarding and off boarding of patient
∎ Ensure passenger, patient and or attendant use seat belt while driving
∎ Ensure ambulance is clean and stocked properly with first aid and medical supplies prior to each shift and between patient transports throughout the day.
∎ Report accident or other emergencies to MCHC manager and/or law enforcement authority when necessary.
∎ Ensure oxygen cylinder is available & full
∎ Ensure proper cleaning/ disinfecting of ambulance before any patient transportation
∎ 1. Actively work towards the achievement of MCHC objectives
∎ 2. Abide by and work in accordance with Red Cross and Red Crescent principles and code of conduct
∎ 3. Perform any other work assigned by line manager
Additional Requirements:
∎ 5 years of experience in driving light motor vehicles, 4-wheel drive, people with ambulance driving experience will be given preference
∎ Ability to speak, write and understand Chittagonian language
∎ Clear night vision, able to work in a multi-culture environment; Able to work during odd hours, capacity to take pressure, teamwork, self-motivated, organized, hardworking, and flexible regarding work hour
