  • Ability to manage field programmes, apply performance management, and lead teams effectively.

Job Purpose

The District Manager will lead Social Empowerment And Legal Protection (SELP) activities at the district level through facilitation, management, and implementation. The role focuses on community mobilisation to reduce child marriage and providing quality legal aid support to all especially women who have faced violence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the District-level Annual Operating Plan.

  • Conduct and follow up on sessions, events, and meetings with girls, parents, and stakeholders to raise awareness and drive action against child marriage.

  • Ensure conditional education support for eligible girls/parents as per programme criteria.

  • Arrange meetings with district and upazila administrations on child marriage and related issues.

  • Coordinate with panel lawyers, organise district-level legal aid clinic activities, and participate in DLAC meetings.

  • Provide protection support to survivors, including medical treatment, DNA tests, OCC assistance, and rehabilitation support.

  • Oversee court case management, including forwarding, notices, case files, and updates in coordination with panel lawyers.

  • Conduct monthly staff coordination meetings, demo sessions, and represent SELP in internal and external stakeholder meetings.

  • Ensure staff benefits, HR policy compliance, and resolve audit issues as required.

  • Maintain coordination and liaison with technical officers, government offices, and stakeholders at the district level.

  • Monitor expenditure against budget, ensure proper coding, check bills (including panel lawyer bills), process payments, and manage logistics.

  • Provide constructive feedback on programme design, modules, guidelines, and implementation.

  • Ensure safeguarding standards are followed, creating a safe working environment and reporting incidents as per policy.

  • Ensure Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) reporting through SELP software as per programme requirements.

  • Oversee Popular Theatre shows and other programme activities as assigned.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
