Job Context:
∎ The Opportunity:
∎ To lead the integrated support, growth and development of the organization (BANDHU) and partner organizations and collaborate pro-actively with other SOGIESC networks to leverage wider impact of the organization goal and principle.
∎ The successful candidate will be a thoughtful, collaborative, and strategic leader with deep knowledge and experience working on a diverse range of health and human rights issues related to SOGIESC person. The Director will be a persuasive advocate in the field, and have an impressive track record of driving change, a deep commitment to coalition building and equitable partnerships, and a strategic vision for BANDHU’s contribution to the national and global SOGIESC movement.
∎ The Director will be an experienced manager and demonstrate the ability and commitment to foster the safety and resilience of staff, to promote diversity and inclusion, to support sustainability of the organization, to be an effective communicator, to provide appropriate and timely feedback on staff performance, to build consensus with staff around key challenges and new research and advocacy approaches, and to ensure the highest research standards in a culture of learning, trust, teamwork, and collaboration.
∎ The Director will represent BANDHU in national, regional, and international arena; will advocate with high-level officials from governments, companies, the United Nations, and other regional and international bodies; will foster and strengthen partnerships with other human rights and civil society organizations, particularly local partners; and will lead collaborations in the human rights movement.
∎ Context of role:
∎ o Brings together and connects all projects and programme of the organization and ensure optimal support and coordination.
∎ o Provides an enabling environment to support free flow of information and the mechanisms to enable knowledge sharing across different programme of the organization.
∎ o Promotes BANDHU as the centre of excellence both external and internal level.
∎ o Works as part of the senior team member of the organization to promote, develop and grow the work of BANDHU.

Job Responsibilities:

∎ Role Deliverables:
∎ Develop strategies, set programmatic priorities, plan and execute advocacy to best defend and advance health and rights of SOGIESC nationally and globally.
∎ Create a framework that builds a greater understanding and integrates all organization project/programme into delivery of the Strategic Framework to widen access, expand choice, innovate and share knowledge and act with youth, advance digital and self-care.
∎ Devise an integrated plan of all project of the organizations to achieve tangible outcomes, capacity building, stronger governance, shared learning and connection facilitation across the organization.
∎ Facilitate and design service delivery of integrated programming and resource allocation accordingly.
∎ Galvanize and lever development opportunities of the organization through proposals and donor reporting.
∎ Build, lead and mentor a diverse team with complementary technical expertise, skills, drive and determination into a seamless functional unit where people can perform at their best.
∎ Identify and target new opportunities in the world related to programme priorities of the organization.
∎ Contribute to resource mobilization through macro knowledge of organization programming, and support the programme team with the conceptualization and development of proposals accordingly
∎ Oversee risk, security and safety requirements and liaise with management/mitigation.
∎ Oversee the collection of detailed, contextualized information on human rights violations affecting SOGIESC people around country, ensure the publication of accurate, comprehensive, insightful, strategic, and timely reports on those policies and practices, and ensure the use of those reports to generate effective and appropriate pressure to curb abuses;
∎ Collaborate with BANDHU’s security teams and others to ensure the safety and resilience of staff, information security, and security of interlocutors and partners;
∎ Maintain an extensive network of informed, supportive, individual donors based all over the world, and support, maintain and grow the network;
∎ Ensure that individual donors are kept updated and informed about the work of the program and work with Development colleagues in arranging events and briefing sessions for donors.
∎ Manage budget setting and spending priorities, in co-operation with the Finance Department, and ensure that resources are allocated to maximize impact;
∎ Provide final editing of reports and other written interventions and take part in research and writing;
∎ Assess quality controls for data integrity used to inform decision-making.
∎ Undertake domestic and international travel as and when require
∎ Perform other responsibilities, as required by the Organization.
∎ Managerial Responsibilities:
∎ Lead, motivate, and mentor a thriving team, including communicating clear expectations, setting performance objectives, providing regular and timely constructive feedback, ensuring balanced workload, and providing guidance on professional growth;
∎ Supervise the team’s use of traditional media, multimedia, new technology, and other innovative tools to advance advocacy goals;
∎ Monitor staff well-being to help manage stress, and boost resilience;
∎ Promote an inclusive and positive work environment including by soliciting diverse points of views, encouraging staff to participate in diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, and proactively addressing any bias, or discrimination; and
∎ Model inclusive behavior and consistently adhere to BANDHU’s internal values;

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 50 years
∎ Key Skills/Expertise:
∎ Successfully led the effective design and delivery of organization programmes.
∎ Track record of co-constructing and implementing multi-faced business plans/budgets with good financial understanding and budget management skills
∎ Significant experience in effective resourcing and monitoring performance to ensure delivery of objectives.
∎ Understands political, economic, social, legal and environmental contexts in the country and the region and globally affecting our sector
∎ Understands the workings of colleagues and how to encourage, influence, incentivize engagement
∎ Ability to scan the horizon to spot issues, leverage opportunities, mitigate risks and build a learning environment with organizational resilience and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances with agility
∎ Evidence of good judgment and decision-making in dealing with challenging situations and management of escalated issues
∎ Open to new/others ideas, strongly collaborative with good influencing skills
∎ Excellent written/verbal communication (English plus Bangla languages).
∎ Excellent team leader and developer with strong planning, organizing and knowledge sharing skills
∎ Strong monitoring and evaluation skills
∎ Ability and willingness to work in and lead a diverse and multicultural environment that role models respect of all cultures, inclusion and no discrimination
