Job Responsibilities:
∎ Brac University is looking to fill the position of Director of Marketing and Communications who will promote, enhance and advance the reputation of the University by leading, developing and delivering the marketing and communication strategies that will build the Brac University brand and raise awareness of its activities across the world. Specific duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
∎ Evaluate, develop and implement a strategic marketing and communications plan that will enhance the reputation of Brac University in Bangladesh and internationally. Clear goals and metrics that will be established that addresses a variety of target audiences and ensures brand recognition on multiple platforms.
∎ Manage key issues relating to media relations and crisis management and assume the role of spokesperson for the university. With overarching responsibility for championing university communications, the Director of Marketing & Communications will align communications to support key strategies including international, relations, government relations, recruitment and retention, community engagement and research.
∎ Directs, analyzes and recommends market research which may include audience analysis and survey development to constantly monitor and measure marketing results to ensure that marketing goals and targets are achieved.
∎ Creates multiple tools and tactics to heighten the recognition of Brac University which enhances and grows brand recognition that results in a greater voice and position on the national and international academic stage.
Additional Requirements:
∎ A strong marketing and communications professional with plenty of energy and a proven track record of successfully positioning major brands across the entire marketing mix. Demonstration of strategic capabilities and tangible evidence of achieving meaningful results at a senior level will be necessary. Furthermore, evidence of understanding the needs of a diverse stakeholder group and being able to respond appropriately is required.
∎ Relevant degree qualification in any of the following areas: Marketing, Communications, Journalism, and ideally professional qualifications expected of an executive-level managerial appointment that will command respect and credibility in a major university, as well as with the University's stakeholder community, including key government ministries and international organizations, employers and the students and their parents. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse group of international colleagues and external stakeholders is essential. Experience of undertaking previous international assignments would be beneficial.
