∎ Strive for perfection and enjoy rebuilding basic tools (string, vector, memory allocator) to be faster and/or cache friendly
∎ Are focused on continuous improvement and fast iterative delivery
∎ Define architectural principles and patterns, and work with delivery teams to apply them
∎ Own the discovery process from a technology perspective, refining requirements and exploring opportunities for delivery teams
∎ Participate in vendor selection processes, leveraging expertise when making decisions concerning 'buy vs build vs reuse'
∎ Ensure developed systems meet their non-functional requirements; including security, maintainability, scalability and performance
∎ Stay abreast with modern trends, applying them judiciously, including gamification
∎ Find the optimal balance between speed, elegance and time (cost) for code based on actual requirements
