Responsibilities & Context:

In order to successfully implement the child protection activities in the field of HCMP, the Deputy Project Manager is responsible for supports and contributes to implementation, planning, developing guideline on integrated child protection programme including gender-based violence, provide assistant & guidance to the staff, attending different meeting including sector meeting, strengthening the capacity of the staff, maintaining the liaison with different sector of the Humanitarian Crisis Management Program and others Non-Government & Government organizations, and preparing different report and budget. Maintaining effective communication with programme/ project manager and provide assistant to the project.

  • Provide support in the design, development and implementation of innovative, effective, context appropriate integrated child protection programming

  • Supports and contributes to the implementation of child protection including gender-based violence intervention (CP and GBV prevention, response and risk mitigation) that include adolescent & women engagement intervention, psychosocial support, case management, community engagement activities and coordination.

  • Coordinating community-based structures including male groups, engaging men and boys in accountable practice curricula, community-based sensitization and activism activities, adolescent girl and WAGs groups

  • Supportive supervision, guidance and technical input to the staff to effectively perform the duties and achieve the objective of child protection programme which contribute a quality programme

  • Provide support to project team to ensure that best practices for integrated child protection services and service integration are well documented, evaluated and poised for scale up

  • In collaboration with agency/ partners and community leaders, develop selection criteria of appropriate child protection programme intervention to engage them in appropriate child protection including gender-based violence services e.g. structured PSS, life skill curriculum, girls shine sessions etc.

  • Development different tools and template on the programme and lead the different programmatic group e.g. adolescent clubs, CBCPC/ community watch group, case management etc.

  • Regular field visit and monitoring the situation to acquire the field demand and reflect it into the programme

  • Prepare different reports for programme purpose and develop action plan with budget following tranche approved budget and other documents and send those to respective authority in time

  • Keep liaison with different sector of HCMP, eternal entity, national and International NGOs and GO specially CiC office

  • Ensure all child protection initiatives align with BRAC’s policies and procedures.

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
