Experience:
Master’s in Education/ Psychology/ Sociology/ Social Work/ ECD or any other relevant subject from a reputed University.

The Deputy Manager, Material Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, localizing, and evaluating age-appropriate, culturally relevant, and inclusive play-based learning and teaching materials for children in humanitarian settings. The role contributes to promoting healing, development, and learning through play in safe spaces established under the Humanitarian Play Lab model.
Create age-appropriate, inclusive, and play-based learning materials for children (0–8 years)
Develop stories, games, puppets, posters, flashcards, puzzles, and visual aids aligned with HPL pedagogy
Adapt materials to reflect local language, culture, customs, and child-rearing practices
Integrate traditional stories, songs, and themes relevant to the target community (e.g., Rohingya or host community)
Work with Sector’s and Project Manager, DPM, ECD specialists, psychologists, and curriculum experts to ensure materials meet developmental and psychosocial needs
Collaborate with Head Office subject specialists, material developers, consultants and other colleagues to design and develop materials
Observe children's interaction with materials and gather feedback to improve usability and effectiveness
Assist in training HPL facilitators on the effective use of developed materials
Prepare user manuals or guides for facilitators to enhance consistency in material usage
Ensure materials are inclusive of gender, disability, and social diversity
Design materials that are safe, durable, and suitable for children in crisis-affected environments
Keep records of all developed and revised materials
Update and refine learning materials based on observation, evaluation, and evolving program needs
Contribute new ideas for interactive and low-cost materials using locally available resources
Encourage playful learning that promotes cognitive, emotional, and social development
Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
