• Minimum 8 years’ experience in internal audit; experience in the logistics, shipping, or stevedoring industry will be an added advantage. 

• Strong knowledge of VAT & Tax, port tariffs, customs rules, and revenue auditing.

• Analytical ability & reporting skills.       

• High integrity and ethical compliance.

• Strong communication & coordination ability.

Sealift Stevedore Services Ltd. and Sea Power Shipping Agency Ltd. are the concerns of SSGIL-BD Operations and one of the leading organizations in the shipping agency and stevedoring industries located in Chattogram. For our expanded business requirements, we are looking for a Deputy Manager who is competent and experienced and will work under our Central Audit Team in Chattogram.

• Conduct internal audits of stevedoring activities and vessel agency services.

• Ensure proper and timely billing and collection for vessel agency commission, other agency service fees, and stevedoring-related service charges to avoid long outstanding receivables

• Verify port charges, customs-related payments, disbursement accounts (FDA/PDA), and monitor compliance with CPA/MPA tariffs, customs laws, VAT & Tax regulations (NBR).

• Audit manpower deployment, including port labor, tally, drivers, and equipment operators, ensuring costs match actual utilization and avoid overbilling.

• Verify tendering, vendor selection, equipment hiring rates, manpower contractor bills, price reasonableness and ensure compliance with company policies and approval hierarchy to ensure that no unauthorized payments.

• Protect company assets by monitoring equipment usage and fuel consumption for excavators and wheel loaders if necessary physical verification of Grab, Equipment and Stores lying in yard to be conducted.

• Verification of Budget vs Actual Revenue vs Actual Expenses of Stevedoring and Shipping Agency Jobs

• Conduct risk assessments to identify operational inefficiencies, revenue leakages, and unethical practices involving port officials, labor contractors, clearing agents, or internal staff.

• Prepare internal audit reports with findings, root cause analysis, recommend corrective actions, and follow up on implementation to strengthen internal controls and compliance.
