• Preference: Retired personnel from Armed Forces with medical background; retired personnel from Govt. Admin cadre with/without medical background active personnel from corporate sector with/without medical background.

Job Context

Medical Director having good managerial and organizational skills, as well as excellent medical knowledge and training, is responsible for overseeing daily operations of a healthcare facility. His duties include reviewing healthcare laws and regulations to implement in daily practices, monitoring facility or department budgets and developing strategies to improve communication between medical professionals and patients.

Job Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans and policies aimed at improving the efficiency, quality, and effectiveness of hospital operations and services
• Provide leadership and oversight for various administrative functions within the hospital, including human resources management, budgeting, finance, procurement, and facility management
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and licensing requirements           governing hospital operations, patient care, safety, and quality assurance
• Supervise and mentor department heads, managers, and other staff members to promote professional growth, teamwork, and accountability, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives
• Facilitate collaboration and communication between different departments, units, and stakeholders within the hospital to optimize care delivery, resource utilization, and patient experience
• Lead and support quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs to enhance clinical outcomes, reduce medical errors, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and excellence
• Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans, protocols, and response procedures to ensure the hospital's readiness to manage disasters, pandemics, and other emergencies effectively
• Represent the hospital in community outreach activities, public relations efforts, and partnerships with local organizations, government agencies, and healthcare providers to promote health education and awareness
• Evaluate and recommend the adoption of new technologies, information systems, and medical equipment to enhance clinical care delivery, operational efficiency, and patient experience.

• Collaborate with hospital leadership, governing boards, medical staff, and other stakeholders to foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and shared decision-making in hospital governance and management
• Provide leadership and direction during crises, conflicts, or challenging situations within the hospital, ensuring effective communication, problem-solving, and resolution while minimizing disruptions to patient care and operations.
• • The Medical Deputy Director is responsible for supervising the functioning and effectiveness of medical services, hospital departments, clinical training services, and blood banks.
