∎ The Denim Fit Technician will be accountable for contributing to the creation, development, and improvement of denim products. The incumbent will be responsible for driving the technical design, fit, quality, and functionality of denim garments, ensuring they meet customer expectations and industry standards.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Collaborate with the denim design and product development teams to understand fit requirements for various collections.
∎ Source and evaluate denim fabrics, trims, and accessories in line with design aesthetics and quality standards.
∎ Provide valuable input during the development phase to ensure feasibility of design ideas.
∎ Translate design concepts into detailed technical specifications, including patterns, measurements, and construction techniques.
∎ Oversee the creation of denim product samples, ensuring accurate execution of design elements and fit suggesting pattern amendments as required.
∎ Conduct comprehensive analysis and testing of denim fabrics, assessing their performance, washability, colorfastness, and durability.
∎ Collaborate with suppliers to address fabric-related concerns and ensure materials meet required specifications.
∎ Work with pattern-making teams to develop accurate patterns for denim garments, considering design details and fit requirements.
∎ Participate in fit sessions, analyzing and addressing fit issues while maintaining design integrity.
∎ Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to communicate technical requirements, resolve production challenges, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
∎ Assist in identifying and qualifying new suppliers, fostering strong working relationships.
∎ Continuously monitor and assess the quality of denim products during development and production phases.
∎ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement quality improvement initiatives and innovative solutions.
∎ Maintain comprehensive records of technical specifications, sample evaluations, and quality control processes.
∎ Generate clear and concise reports on garment development progress and quality assessments.
∎ Stay informed about denim fashion trends, market preferences, and technological advancements in denim manufacturing.
∎ Provide insights and recommendations to enhance product offerings based on market demands.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years' experience as a denim fit technician in a reputed buying office or factory.
∎ Must have a strong understanding of denim fit, fabrics, washes, finishes, garment construction, pattern manipulation/correction, and sizing as well as knowledge of body shapes and proportions, and how they relate to garment fit.
∎ Proficiency in pattern-making software and relevant tools will be an added advantage.
∎ Passionate about garment fit and construction.
∎ Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to identify fit discrepancies and offer solutions.
∎ Up-to-date knowledge of denim trends, sustainability practices, and industry best practices.
∎ Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess fabric performance and identify areas for improvement.
∎ Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and build relationships work as a team.
∎ Should be well-groomed, smart, and energetic.
∎ Strong presentation and delivery skills
∎ Strong attention to detail and accuracy, aiming for perfection.
∎ Excellent written and verbal communication both in Bangla and English
∎ IT proficiency - advance level skill is a MUST in MS Office package (Especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)
∎ Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently.
∎ Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast paced and creative environment.
