Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Database design and architecture: Develop logical and physical database models to meet application and business requirements
∎ Installation and configuration: Set up DBMS such as MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases
∎ Performance tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and load balancing.
∎ Backup and recovery: Implement backup strategies and disaster recovery plans.
∎ Security management: Control access, enforce user permissions, implement encryption and security measures.
∎ Data integrity and quality: Ensure accuracy and consistency by applying rules and validation procedures.
∎ Maintenance and updates: Patch and upgrade database systems regularly.
∎ Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues promptly.
∎ Collaboration: Work with developers, system admins, and business analysts to support database needs.
