Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA)
∎ Implementing small or medium sized MSSQL systems and components.
∎ Successful design and implementation of multiple MSSQL components and subsystems Like SSIS, SSAS, SSRS etc.
∎ Ability to communicate the design and implementation of Database systems including relevant strengths/weaknesses and reasons for implementation decisions
∎ Proven experience in solving challenging technical problems
∎ Good task estimation and prioritization skills
∎ Proven ability to support multiple projects and objectives simultaneously and efficiently
∎ Ability to travel to client or other sites to support technical presentations, testing, and integration

Job Context:
∎ A Database Administrator (DBA) is a skilled and experienced Database Administrator responsible for the detailed design, Implementation, and testing of subsystems and system components. A Senior DBA is able to build a wide variety of database subsystems and components like SSIS, SSAS, SSRS etc efficiently and effectively, given only a requirements specification and constraints. A Database Administrator is able to develop and sustain these subsystems and MSSQL components in complex, multi-Vendor, multiplatform environments. Perform other duties as assigned. Take initiative in performance, working independently and with groups to effectively accomplish project objectives and engage in the following.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Installing and upgrading the database server and application tools
∎ Modifying the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application developers. Enrolling users and maintaining system security
∎ Controlling and monitoring user access to the database
∎ Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database
∎ Planning for backup and recovery of database information
∎ Maintaining archived data
∎ Backing up and restoring databases
∎ Managing and monitoring data replication
∎ Map out the conceptual design for a planned database
∎ Maintain the adherence of the data standards to the Data Protection Act
∎ Test new versions of the database management system and install them
∎ Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary
∎ Contacting database vendor for technical support
∎ Communicate often with technical and operational staffs to keep a check on security
∎ Generating various reports by querying from database as per need
∎ Ensuring compliance with database vendor license agreement
∎ Good at English writing and reading skills
∎ Aptitude to learn and understand new and emerging technologies
∎ Demonstrated experience in design and debugging of asynchronous (e.g. multi-Threaded) systems.
∎ Experience with web environments including web scripting languages, REST and SOAP API’s and messaging protocols.
∎ Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system
