Job Context:
∎ Chemonics International, Inc., a U.S.-based international development consulting firm, is seeking qualified candidates for multiple positions for the five-year USAID Feed the Future Bangladesh Horticulture, Fruits, and Non-Food Crops Activity. The activity supports the Government of Bangladesh (GOB) food security objective by increasing the private sector’s capacity to increase productivity and production of quality horticulture, fruits, and non-food crops that meet international standards. The activity will also strengthen the value chain, linking Bangladeshi smallholder commercial farmers, and other value chain actors towards increasing the efficiency of the market system to meet domestic and international market demands. The result will be a more competitive private sector and efficient market systems that will increase farmers’ income and improve the food security of Bangladesh.
∎ The Data Entry Operator will be assigned for a short-term period and should have a clear understanding of the operation of Kobo tool-based questionnaires and RMS (Activities results management system) operation.
∎ REPORT TO : MANAGER, MONITORING, EVALUATION & LEARNING
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Prepares compiles and sorts of documents for data entry.
∎ Transcribes source data into the required electronic format.
∎ Transfers information from paper formats into a digital format using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners.
∎ Performs high-volume data entry using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or other computer software.
∎ Verifies integrity of data by comparing it to source documents.
∎ Reviews data for errors, missing pages, or missing information and resolves any discrepancies.
∎ Maintains a filing system and protects confidential client’s information.
∎ Performs regular backups to ensure data preservation.
∎ Responds to requests to retrieve data from the database or electronic filing system.
∎ Ensuring flexibility to work at Implementing partner’s office compound or at own home level to meet up targets and speedy delivery of the work.
∎ Maintains a satisfactory level of quality and productivity per department standards.
∎ Respond to queries for information and access relevant files.
∎ Comply with data integrity and security policies.
∎ Ensure proper use of office equipment and address any malfunctions.
∎ Completes additional assigned tasks as required.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Fast Typing Speed.
∎ Basic Knowledge of Office Software and Database Structure.
∎ Attention to Detail.
∎ Proficiency in entering data both in Bangla and English using Tablets /Smart Phones and PCs.
∎ Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
∎ Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
∎ MUST have personal computers (PC) or laptops for data entry.
∎ Organizational and Time-management Skills.
∎ Similar experience in Data entry in offline and Online database systems.
∎ Familiarity with working in Agricultural Research data or Socio-economic Households data entry into the prescribed database using Online Software.
