Job Responsibilities:
∎ Customs Clearance: Preparing and submitting customs clearance of import declarations to customs authorities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and customs procedures. Ensuring accuracy and completeness of customs documents and coordinating with customs officials for timely clearance of goods.
∎ Customs Tariff Classification: Determining the correct tariff classification of imported or exported goods according to the Harmonized System (HS) or other customs tariff systems. Ensuring accurate classification to determine the correct customs duties, taxes, and fees applicable to the goods.
∎ Customs Valuation: Determining the correct customs value of imported or exported goods in accordance with the customs valuation rules, including the transaction value method, related party transactions, and other valuation methods. Ensuring accurate valuation to determine the correct customs duties, taxes, and fees applicable to the goods.
∎ Customs Compliance: Ensuring compliance with customs laws, regulations, and procedures, as well as any applicable trade agreements, free trade zones, or special customs programs. Keeping abreast of changes in customs regulations and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of customs requirements.
∎ Customs Documentation: Preparing and maintaining accurate and complete customs documentation, including customs declarations, invoices, packing lists, permits, licenses, and other required documents. Managing customs documentation in compliance with customs requirements and company procedures.
∎ Customs Audit and Recordkeeping: Maintaining proper records and documentation in accordance with customs regulations, including recordkeeping of customs declarations, supporting documents, and other relevant records. Preparing for and participating in customs audits or inspections as needed.
∎ Customs Consultation: Providing customs-related advice and consultation to internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and other relevant parties. Ensuring compliance with customs requirements and providing guidance on customs processes, procedures, and documentation.
∎ Customs Dispute Resolution: Resolving customs-related issues, disputes, or discrepancies that may arise during the customs clearance process. Coordinating with customs officials, customers, and other stakeholders to resolve customs disputes in a timely and efficient manner.
∎ Communication and Coordination: Communicating and coordinating with various stakeholders, including customs officials, customers, suppliers, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and other relevant parties. Maintaining effective communication channels to ensure smooth customs clearance and resolve any customs-related issues or delays.
