Diploma in Sterilizing Technology / CSSD Technician Course or Training

• Age 20 to 30 years

1. Cleaning and Decontamination of Medical Instruments

   • Collect, sort, clean, and disinfect used surgical instruments and medical equipment according to established infection control protocols.

2. Inspection, Assembly, and Packaging

   • Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage; assemble instrument sets and package them correctly for sterilization.

3. Sterilization of Medical Equipment

   • Operate sterilization equipment such as steam autoclaves, low-temperature sterilizers, and washer-disinfectors while ensuring compliance with sterilization standards.

4. Monitoring and Documentation

   • Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, biological and chemical indicator results, equipment maintenance, and inventory to ensure traceability and regulatory compliance.

5. Storage and Distribution of Sterile Supplies

   • Store sterile items under appropriate conditions and distribute them promptly to operating theatres, wards, and other clinical departments while maintaining sterility.
